    We booked this because house with parking in Cockermouth is hard to find - and it's only a mile or so from town. Brigham is an attractive village worth a stroll, sadly local shop seems to have closed. Property is very comfortable and relaxing, and a conservatory / sitting area in this part of the country a real bonus, good when weather is cool. Inside is well equipped and suitable for family though we were just two. Quiet and country views on three sides. It could do with some updating though, particularly the bathroom which is a bit dark with coloured suite etc. If you are booking in winter be aware the drive is rather steep and on a bend so salting may be required. Overall we were pleased with Brigham House and would book again.

    We had an amazing holiday, the Lake District never fails us! From mountains, tarns and lakes to beautiful towns and villages, there is something to enjoy for everyone and we certainly wish we could of stayed for longer. Brigham house was warm and comfortable and so quiet, we slept so well here. The only issue issue we had with the house was the cooker and fridge. The fridge seemed to struggle keeping food cold when full, milk was spoiling within a day and the cooker is very inefficient, taking a long time to warm up/cook, in my opinion it really is at the end of it's life. But those little complaints aside this home is in a lovely, safe area. You'll also have such a nice welcome, lots of extras such as tea and sugar is already there for you which is such an excellent touch.

    Spot on, just what we needed for the week. Can't recommend high enough, such a lovely house and close to local things. Could do with an updated kitchen as the oven lights and rings weren't working and wearing off but this is only a minor thing. Works perfectly fine just takes a little longer to heat up. Overall would happily come back again when we're in the area, really was a stress free week staying at the house.
