Initially, the 'cottage' seemed acceptable accommodation. However, I opened the kitchen cutlery drawer and found human hairs, off the end of a razor, in the compartment with the teaspoons. The plastic cover off the razor was still in the drawer. It was disgusting. We then discovered that the toilet seat cover did not fit the toilet bowl and was indeed cracked. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and we needed a towel stuffed into the seam of this wall to stop the floor flooding over. Intending to grill bacon in the oven we took out the grill tray to find it was full of dissolved fat. We have never felt so disgusted and have never in all our years of holidaying in self-catering accommodation all over Scotland found anything like this! All in all, we are disgusted at the lack of cleanliness and the obvious lack of checking by whoever was in charge of this. It was as if the cottage had never been cleaned at all.

We stayed here at the beginning of May for a week. The cottage was clean, quiet and comfy and had everything you would need. The only thing that wasn't there was Internet but then sometimes it's good to come off it for a week and there are plenty of places in town you can get free WiFi. The cottage is only a short walk from the town centre. There are also two convenience stores just near the cottage and a very short walk from Farmfoods. The two bedrooms are comfy. The open plan living/kitchen is also comfy and well equipped. In all, we enjoyed our stay at Brisbane and would definitely recommend to friends and family and would go back again.

Very cosy cottage and very close to all that Largs has to offer. The only real downside for us was the first lack of wi fi . However this was a good excuse to visit Wetherspoons and use their free wi fi

A lovely flat in central Largs - ideally located to explore the western isles which was our main aim. Linda met us at the flat and showed us around and had the heating on for us. The flat is very nice, all the amenities you need and cozy. The main bed is low to the ground but no problem to use and the second bedroom is small but again would be fine to use. It is perfectly located 2 minutes walk away from the sea front. If you are going to Largs I would recommend this as a base. Linda had also got us a welcome pack of milk and some tea cakes which was a lovely touch. We were a bit apprehensive having seen a previous poor review but it felt like we were staying in 2 different places comparing the review to what we found. Would happily stay again.

On first impression it looked good , but it soon became clear that it needed a lot of work, in the lounge the sofa was very dirty and well worn,in the kitchen oven did not work, plus we was unable to switch off oven on wall socket (we had a toddler with us so this is important)this was taped up. Also no kitchen utensils spatula, serving spoons ect. Cupboard doors loose, kick boards falling down. Bathroom shower door very unsafe, plus bath and bathroom floors very slippy when wet, the hot water was scolding hot and if a child turned this on they would be very badly burnt . Toilet seat broken. Bedrooms, king size bed basically a mattress on the floor, the frame that it was on all the slats were broken also anyone with mobility problems would be unable to use this bed ( my wife could not use this bed) the wardrobe was full so unable to hang our clothes. Bedroom 2 with double bed well you cannot swing a cat in this room really its a single room, no space to get into the bed no room to undress, nowhere to store clothes, totally unsuitable for a couple. We went to this cottage for a short break there was me, my wife, daughter, and 2 year old grandson, the location was great , but the cottage was totally unsuitable for 4 people it needed to be for a couple that are fit and active, it is also not safe for children . It really needs some tender loving care and 're thinking . Anyone with mobility issues like my wife please give it a miss. We gave up after 4 nights and returned home.
