This lovely terraced property has accommodation set over three floors and is set close to the town of Llandiloes in ‘Y Fan’ village, nestling in the valley between Y Fan’ and Garth hills, This small town was formed following the discovery of lead ore in the surrounding areas. A very rich seam was found in Y Fan in the 1850’s. In their hey-day the mine was the largest lead mine in Britain. It has since, in the main, been landscaped and is a haven for wild life. The beautiful Clywedog reservoir is set just 1 mile away where sailing; paddle boarding; canoeing, fishing, amongst other things, take place. A place also to see ospreys nesting in the Spring and diving for fish. The beautiful Elan Valley dams supplying water to Birmingham and the Red Kite feeding station in Rhayader are well worth a visit while you are in the area.
It is the perfect place to relax amidst some of the most unspoilt and undiscovered scenery Wales has to offer. Surrounded by soft mountain scenery, it makes a very popular destination with wildlife enthusiasts and hikers. Set just 2 miles from Llanidloes, the town offers an array of Bars, shops and takeaways for guests to enjoy, The Old Market Hall, the only half-timbered hall of its kind in Wales, and still in its original position, was constructed on the centre of the cross in the early 1600s.. There are over thirty separate walking routes and national trails around the area which are clearly marked and signposted and range from just a few miles to a good day’s walk. Many of the roads and tracks around are ideal for cyclists. In this beautiful Mid Wales region you will find castles, country houses and gardens, wildlife and nature reserves, small market towns, lakes, mountains and the beaches of the Ceredigion coastline within easy reach. Situated a 2-hour drive from Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff, with the national rail network running close by, this property offers good links for guests travelling to the property.
