This cute, bijoux, specially converted annex is just perfect for couples who wish to have a lovely holiday by the sea. Set next to property UK3438, the annex of Broadway 27 is only a 10-minute walk to the glorious beach at Longsands and a short stroll to the shops, pubs and restaurants. The modern flat promenade of Tynemouth, stretching along to Whitley Bay, is just a 15-minute walk, scattered along the route with little cafés and ice cream parlours, with some hidden fish shacks down on the beach. This cosy annex is on the outskirts of the town but only around 640 yards from Longsands beach, where you often spot surfers.
Tynemouth and the surrounding area has something to offer all age groups with a small boating lake, Sealife Centre, golden beaches and Tynemouth Abbey. It’s a wonderful place to stay for your holidays. Nearby Whitley Bay has a theatre, waves swimming pool and more golden beaches. The completely renovated Spanish City sits at the front of the town facing the sea, with a wonderful fish and chip restaurant and champagne bar inside.
The promenade stretches between these two towns and is lovely and flat for strolling along on an evening, stopping off for drinks or food along the way. The Priory in Tynemouth hosts some musical events and plays and dates back centuries. It sits on the cliff and can be seen from further afield. Walk down to the restored Metro station, which is known locally as the ’Covent Garden of the North’, and is home to a very interesting, weekend indoor market, popular for all ages. You can hop on a metro here to Newcastle, where you can take in the popular quayside or visit a theatre, gallery or museum, and of course the fabulous shopping.
Tynemouth is close to a great road network which will take you in all directions over to Hadrian’s Wall in the west of the county, or north up the stunning Heritage Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where there are more golden sands and castles to explore.
