This is a great place to stay , we were really comfortable here and it is based close to a local pub and the beach , there was some nice touches such as homemade bread and toiletries. During our stay there was also hand soap and antibacterial spray delivered to combat Coronavirus. You do have to bear in mind two sets of steep stairs to get to apartment but once you are up it’s all on virtually the same level . Bathroom a couple of steps up. There is almost everything you need including dogs bed, bowls and towel . Dog allowed on same level but not in bedrooms. There is also a dog friendly area on the ground floor with a utility room which is tiled . The apartment upstairs is carpeted throughout except Lino in kitchen and bathroom areas . There is not a door on the kitchen. There is a safety gate at top of stairs which was useful . The outside area forms a patio off the drive and is not secure . The secure garden is for exclusive use of sister let Westbrook. Issues to be aware of: my partner had a fall on Sunday nearby the apartment and took him back to get cleaned up, but there was no first aid kit . ( fortunately had one in car) but still had to go to hospital for glue didn’t spoil holiday though St Mary’s was fantastic . The WiFi is unsecured, so having an iPhone it didn’t like browsing and was constantly logging off . This was doubly frustrating as the O2 mast in the brook area is down at present which meant we couldn’t contact anyone once in apartment. Having said this we would still return and to catch a glimpse of a red squirrel was perfect.

Set in lovely woodland off the beaten track but within walking distance of pub and beach we had a lovely stay in Northbrook Cottage. We came out of season and had to drive around quite a bit before we found a pub that was open but that didn't detract from the lovely surroundings and the local pub, The Sun Inn, was open again a couple of days later when we had a lovely meal and a few drinks with the very friendly staff and locals. I would definitely recommend Northbrook Cottage. It had everything you could want plus more and Belinda left us a lovely homemade loaf of bread when we arrived. There were games, puzzles, books, dvds to borrow (hundreds of them) so even if the weather was bad you were occupied. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need and there was a washer and drier on the ground floor. There are a LOT of stairs to get to the accommodation but once up there everything is on the same level.

Lovely apartment, clean, and peaceful setting. Do not under estimate the stairs though and although there was a sitting area outside you did feel you were sat on the drive.

Nice comfortable apartment in quiet location. Welcome loaf of bread on arrival. Good pub half a mile walk away and right on the doorstep of good walking country , either on the downs or on the coastal path. Would stay again.
