    Comfort and Equipment

    Value for money

We stayed in this cottage 3 years ago and was surprised to see all the fixtures and fittings were the same.3 years ago they were tired and shabby but are now even more distressed. The arm of the settee has a big hole in it and and must be at the very least 30 years old. The ceiling paper in the downstairs bedroom is coming off the ceiling. Freezer door doesn’t close properly so you have a constant puddle of water. Damp in the main bathroom. It’s time they injected some of the money people pay to stay here. It is an expensive holiday with none of the luxury. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement.

House needs a good clean, sitting room smelt damp and sofa needs replacing. Needs more bathrooms and some new furniture. Refrigerators not very effective. Hot tub was excellent and the kitchen was the best room in the house. Lack of wifi was disappointing.

No WiFi and television options were poor Only dvd in smallest room and sky signal very intermittent in windy weather which meant we were unable to watch tv on several occasions No wire on grill pan although plenty pots and pans although they had no lids Need more teaspoons However size of house good and Geraint very helpful and friendly Hot tub great Under cushions lots of dog hairs and under beds lots of dust

A lovely traditional house. It was clean and comfortable but some tlc needed in places. We would definitely return.

As a family and partners of 12, we found Bryn Rhydd very homely, it wasn't perfect, but it's an old property and you will find things that may not be to your liking. Having said that we had 3 problems whilst staying there, a phone call to Geraint, the maintenance man and any issue is dealt with and only too pleased to help, the hot tub was great, and we were actually fortunate to be able to have a BBQ. Value for money is good. Plenty of games in the cupboard. Maybe the only big problem for some members of my family, there was not wifi, and the fact that 3 had to leave early as their srudy work was online and couldn't retrieve it. As they have exams with in a couple of weeks, they cut short their holiday. It would be lovely if we could have had a log fire in the lounge, because the beginning of the week was cold, but the heating was good.

We have just enjoyed our second visit to Bryn Rhydd in two years.... it has a rustic country charm that is comforting....the house is not perfect but perfect for us in that we feel very much at home and we make it our home.... we look forward to returning at some point in the future.

Lovely cottage, very easy to find and met by Geraint who explained how everything worked. Lovely and warm quiet and fantastic views. Could have done with another bathroom with six bedrooms

Below I have provided a list of pros and cons that my family and I put together: Cons Poor bed slats in one of the twin rooms. Making sleeping very difficult We had 2 babies with us and the heating was not put on in preparation for this, having to wait 2 days for the house to heat up to a sufficient heat. No wardrobe in 2 of the twin rooms meaning no where to hang or put clothes No clothes horse to dry clothes Not being able to have both the tv and the xmas tree lights on at the same time, only one or the other Broken toaster Only 3 teaspoons provided Saucepans with no lids No bulbs in the lamps on the bed side table in the 4 poster bed bedroom Baking trays that don’t fit in the oven House could of been cleaner and entire house is very tired The house itself does not give the photos any justice No non slip mats in the showers or baths Lack of toilet rolls to start us off with No hand soap at all Copious amounts of mould in the shower area of the back bathroom upstairs Broken oven door Guttering needs to be done Upstairs toilet leaking Most uncomfortable sofa Pros Hot tub was amazing House was spacious Maintenance man was very friendly

This was our second stay and again we had a fabulous holiday! Great location for getting out and seeing the countryside and beautiful views. The house is rustic and just what we like as you feel you can let you kids run and have freedom. No immediate neighbours so you can be as noisy as you like! Great comfy beds and although a big old house it's very cosy and warm. We did feel though that the outside of the house requires a little tlc it is not cheap to stay here so a little reinvestment would make all the difference. Little points like a new sofa and using the fire as an open fire in the living room would be good small improvements. All in all another great stay! I don't think we'll return as there's so many places to see in the world but that is the only reason. Would recommend to any family or group of families to stay here ideal for a fun, peaceful, relaxing, family adventure.
