Aviemore is set in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, and amongst the many activities and pursuits you can enjoy are hill walking, climbing, zorbing, zip lining, mountain biking, skiing and snow boarding on the pistes near the funicular railway at the base of the Cairngorms. You can enjoy a good day golfing at the nearby Spey Valley golf course and the Macdonald Dalfaber Golf and Country Club which is within easy walking distance of Bryony House. The country club has a wide range of activities on site including a swimming pool, a very well equipped gym and tennis courts along with a restaurant and bar where you can sit back and watch your children enjoy the fun filled swimming area. A trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway is well worth doing to experience the bygone age of steam, along with seeing some of the most stunning scenery the area has to offer. Show more
A large variety of watersports are available at Loch Morlich and Loch Insh which are just a short drive away. Amongst the many attractions the area has to offer are the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie where you can see Hamish, the first polar bear to be born in the UK in the last 25 years, and also the Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carrbridge which is a fun filled day for the whole family. The house makes a super base for exploring the area with Inverness, the Highland capital, a short drive away, and a day trip to Loch Ness and the beautiful beaches of the Moray coastline are highly recommended.
