Lovely location - fantastic. Characterful cottage. But not safe for children and especially when you have a baby. We had no electricity during the first night and no mobile reception. The toilet is down stairs. When we managed to speak to owners they were totally unsympathetic about the need of keeping a light/lights on with the baby and generally being safe with getting down the stairs. At night you can't see your arm in front of you it's so dark. The owners reluctantly put on the generator. I can put up with the coldness with only being a log burner for heat and we had exceptionally cold weather but not the safety aspect. Shame because us and our girls did have a lovely time, in perfect location, but spoilt by owners who care more about saving money than caring for the guests. We wouldn't go back.

A great cottage in a lovely location. A little cold in autumn, but once the wood burning stove is going it warms up nicely. Look out for the lovely little ginger cat that paid us a visit, it's super friendly & purrs for England.

Perfect for what we wanted. A weekend to be able to switch off with no mobile reception!

Lovely weekend break, very remote location, great for walking if the weather was better, little chilly until the log burner gets going but then gets nice and warm! Great facilities including kids bowls and cutlery which was a huge help, would return and hope to explore the area more in better weather!

As before, all was as expected. We were not entirely sure why the fire, even when burning away happily, did not really heat the room. We love this part of the country and Buckshead is a great location for walks wihtout needing to drive, but also those a bit further away.

Fabulous cottage, secluded and private. A proper break from the mundane. Well recommended.

We rented taking account of the photos shown on the Cottages website. However the gardens were very overgrown. There was no internet and intermittent TV which should be explained on the website. Plenty of visitor guides but no guest book of comments and no house guide in relation to how to use the equipment within the cottage.
