On the positive side: the bed is super comfy and the cottage has everything you may need. It's super central as well so you can walk to the centre and there are enough shops around in case you need groceries, etc. The cottage has some board games which were actually nice. On the negative side: The instructions were not very clear. We got the key and were trying to open the front door (which we realised later is actually blocked from the inside) so the entrance is on the back. The parking permit was by the washing machine and we completely missed it. I would expect this to be by the house rules/instructions. Also, the cottage is cold. This is not particularly surprising but the heating is timed (only from 6:30am to 8:30am and then again in the afternoon) and the log burner is definitely not enough to keep it warm. If you are a person who struggles in the cold (like my partner) bring extra layers.

We had a lovely long weekend in this cosy cottage. Location was ideal, just a very short walk to restaurants and shops which was handy with the wet weather we had. The cottage was lovely and well equipped. Only very minor inconvenience was the parking as although there was on street parking directly outside the cottage, this was taken up entirely with large vans for the duration of our stay. This meant we had to park quite a distance from the cottage which made unloading and packing the car in the rain a bit of a pain. However I suppose this is to be expected with a town centre location and was not the end of the world. We would definitely recommend this cottage to any other family with young children, in addition to having all the things Kendal town has to offer, it was only a short drive to other attractions such as Beatrix Potter World, Windermere and the Lakeside railway and aquarium (all good for rainy days with kids!)

Enjoyed a family break here over new year for a week. Lovely cosy little cottage very close to local amenities-bars and shops literally on your door step! Parking was a problem and the property was noisy on an evening due to it not having double glazing. Twin bedroom could benefit from black out blinds too. However beds were very comfy and we loved the log burning stove. We’d recommend the cottage to anyone. Thank you x

My friend and I had this cottage for a few days in November. Unfortunately we were frozen. There was nothing to light the wood burner with on the first night even though it said there would be. The central heating wasn’t on and when we did find where to put it on the radiators were barely warm and there was no indication of how we could turn the heating up. We turned the thermostatic radiator controls to max but it made no difference. The radiators were big enough to heat the room so maybe they need attention. When we did get the fire going each night we burnt through a bag of logs per night with little effect unless we stood 6 inches away. We couldn’t work out where the heat was going. We followed the instructions and called friends with log burners for advice. We bought thermal vests, hand warmers, thick socks and used blankets every night to keep warm. The bedding was warm enough and the beds comfortable though getting out of the shower was freezing. We laughed about it and it would be a lovely place to stay in better weather. The kitchen is well equipped and the bottle of Prosecco a nice touch.
