Beautiful cottage with a lovely history. It was just perfect for some quiet family time. We have 2 young boys who were very content with their rooms, space in the cottage and playing outside in the grassy area surrounding the cottage. The cottage was well equipped for a family. Great location short drive away from Tarland mountain bike trails, Transport museum, Crathes castle and The den and the glen. We loved visiting local villages for the excellent playgrounds and lovely cafe Spider on a bicycle. Thank you all at Burnside for helping create some happy family memories!

Loved it, great balance of rural location and feeling totally away from it all, yet close enough to villages and towns for an evening out or to stock up on supplies. Enough to do and see to keep a 9year old and 13year old happy too. Lots of walking cycling and wildlife on the doorstep.

Fantastic spring break in Burnside, a lovely cosy cottage in a great location. Lots of visitor attractions and places to eat locally. Many forest walks enjoyed with our dog. Only disappointment was no gate to the drive so garden was not fully enclosed. We thoroughly recommend and will definitely return again.

What a fabulous find. We couldn't fault this traditional crofters cottage, it was perfect for the 2 of us & in a great position for exploring the local area. The views across the valley from the kitchen were fabulous & we enjoyed relaxing in there over breakfast watching the local wildlife. The log burner in the living room was also fab and added to the cosiness in the evenings. As a suggestion it would be good to have a welcome book/folder for the cottage with all useful information such as emergency contact number, nearest hospital, doctors, food shops etc plus how to use certain things like the fan oven which needs the clock setting to work, it just makes it a little easier finding everything in one place but only a minor thing. We would definitely stay there again without hesitation
