Fell Foot National Park is just 2 miles away with play areas and is great for swimming in the Lake on a hot day.     We loved the house and the area. But there were just a couple of things that could be easily resolved to improve the rating: please provide a bigger fridge, a freezer, a patio table that doesn’t leave white marks on anything that touches it, a dry log store area and a kitchen broom. Also, the hot water booster kept tripping so we couldn’t bath the baby at her usual time. And the nearest pub is definitely not within reach of the house without a car & designated driver. Plus, access to the lake was impossible without trespassing over private land & through the outdoor activity centre. Awkward!! Prior warning would have been great! In conclusion though, we had a brilliant time. Thanks.

    this property is currently up for sale, we were bothered by estate agents contacting us for people to view the house while we were staying there. Also we had problems with there being no hot water for five of the 7 days. I believe this is an on going problem . Until these problems are rectified I would not rent cottage again.

    Everything we needed for a fantastic family Christmas although I imagine the road outside might be quite busy in the summer months Overall though for us it was terrific

    We stayed the week before Christmas and was our second stay at this property in a year. The cottage offers good parking and is spacious, which is a key feature for us. The property has a lovely private garden and is peaceful. Really enjoyed our stay and will definately book again.

    Having read reviews was a little dubious on route, property on a main road, the gate to the property is broken and needs to fixed. It was adequate for what we needed our first family holiday with a 10 month old and 2 dogs. House is very charming with beams a plenty, everything was comfortable and everything you needed kitchen wise was there. In a way the location is good 13 mins drive into Bowness but not walkable at all, we were disappointed in this. Overall the property needs a deep clean, cobwebs and spiders in bathrooms. Could do with hanging facilities in the other 2 bedrooms and hangers of course. I would counter argue that the property was not dog friendly, the garden was not enclose and our dogs could easily escape onto a busy main road, we did however take stakes with us. It's not the owners fault but there was a lot of dog muck in the garden (which we picked up) if you own dogs you should clean up after them. As for walks there was nothing we had to get in the car and drive somewhere for the dogs to go out which was a nightmare at nightime. One last point, as regular customers we were disappointed to see a letter on the notice board stating resurfacing would take place every night the full week we were away on the main road directly in front of the property. Queue flashing lights, working noise and no easy access should there be an emergency, this was fun with a 10 month old, not much sleep was had.

    It was a lovely cottage but we had to drive everywhere as it was a bit far out from local shops & amenities and it’s on a busy road and the garden is not dog proof from the road! Otherwise all good.
