We had a great break at this beautiful cottage. Our dogs enjoyed the beautiful garden and local walks. All in all a fab place to stay. Relaxing and very enjoyable. We will hopefully be returning to enjoy the cottage and scenery again.

It was a wonderful location and we thoroughly enjoyed our exploration of the wetlands. There were things in cottage that needed attention and had been mentioned by other guests.eg stained bedding, grubby floors, broken blind, roll holder and the most uncomfortable sofa ever! Just impossible to sit on - kept sliding off. Had to use dining chairs in the evening. Previous guests have repeatedly commented on lack of hooks in bathroom and bedrooms. We hadn't brought T towels, dish cloths, scourer or oven gloves, and felt that , for the price, they should have been provided. Having said all this, it is still a lovely place to have a holiday - just needs a bit more thought for guests comfort.

Lovely, peaceful, romantic stay. Lovely walks nearby and beaches too. Very clean and well equipped. Only one complaint the sofa seats kept slipping off, could do with being replaced, will definitively come back though.

Property was dirty on arrival. Food debris on kitchen counters. Dust everywhere. Food stains on bin and kitchen counter. Old stale coffee in coffee pot. Mattress had no cover. Mattress was stained as were pillows and duvet. Left a day early as felt very uncomfortable staying here

A warm comfortable clean and modernised cottage in a peaceful setting close to the Scottish Solway coast. The cottage is in need of some minor repairs but we thought it was still good value and had a lovely quiet winter break here.

It is an excellent little cottage and loved staying here. There was a few little niggles such as poor Internet, the sofa needed to be replaced and some of the support had gone and the door handles through out were aestheticly nice but were hard to open with people who had hand movement problems but those are little things and would definitely recommend the cottage and would consider staying again.

Cottage was excellent.. only remark would be as the cottage takes dogs... the garden needs to be more secure to keep dog in garden..especially as our dog was small and could easily get under the gate...otherwise overall great cottage and would use again...

A well appointed and renovated cottage. Comfortable and warm with the special benefit of a wood burning stove and a walk in wet floor bathroom. It is isolated but that is part of its charm. A half hour drive from Dumfries for serious shopping so don't forget the milk!

Quiet and pleasant location, good walks and local excursions. Instructions on getting there from the North inadequate: no guidance at all on how to get through Dumfries and on to the right exit. Traffic in Dumfries is complicated and confusing to someone not already familiar with the city, and we lost our way several times before eventually being put on the right track by a helpful local (it took nearly two hours). The relevant destinations (the Hospital, Bankend) are only signposted once you have exited Dumfries by the correct route, which is impossible to guess. To complicate matters there is more than one hospital in Dumfries, which caused us to go off twice in the wrong direction. The cottage itself is under-equipped: e.g. no proper wardrobe, no chair or stool in the bedrooms, limited storage space, no shower curtain in the bathroom (which results in the whole floor getting wet and slippery), no oven gloves, limited crockery (no milk jug), non-stick pans worn out and need replacing, no CD/DVD player (though advertised on the website), sofa sagging, limited instructions (e.g. how to operate the electric cooker, which took trial and error; how to locate stores in town apart from Morrisons). A pity, because otherwise the cottage would be quite pleasant.

Wonderful location. Very dog friendly with enclosed garden and lovely walks. Cottage had been upgraded to a high standard but standard of cleanliness very poor particularly in the shower room. Shower head and extractor fan were filthy. Simple additions such as supplying sponges / clothes to allow guests to clean kitchen surfaces / mop up wet room as they go along would help. Visitor book cited problem with flies which were an issue when we arrived - dealt with by buying fly spray. Should be supplied by owner. Mattress also very lumpy so not a particularly comfortable sleep. Would expect toilet paper to be supplied in a 4 star holiday let.
