The semi-detached dormer bungalow has been equipped and furnished to a good standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible. Cala Sona is near the impressive Cuillin mountain range the spiritual homeland of the island and is just a short drive from the Talisker Distillery the only one on Skye. Here you can take the tasting tour and sample one of the finest single malts produced in Scotland. Talisker Bay Glenbrittle beach and the Fairy Pools will all be of interest to visitors to the island. Take a trip to Dunvegan where you can visit the historic Dunvegan Castle and its gardens and then take the lovely walk to the coral beaches a superb walk with the gem at the end of it Take a short trip to the Waternish and Trotternish Peninsulas which are both well worth a visit and where the scenery is breathtaking with rugged coastlines unspoilt rocky inlets and beaches. Portree on the east side of the island is the bustling main town where you can take a stroll down to the colourful harbour area and watch the fishing vessels unload their catch of the day. You can also take a sea trip from Portree to see the large variety of sea and bird life that the island has to offer.\nTo the south of the island is Broadford with the southern tip called ‘The Garden of Skye’ where you can visit the ruins of Armadale Castle and its lovely gardens. Skye is an outdoor enthusiasts’ paradise with many outdoor pursuits available including sea trips walking and climbing for all levels kayaking canoeing mountain biking and fishing. For photographers the island offers fabulous opportunities to capture the wildlife and dramatic scenery with its ever-changing light. For the less energetic there is a large selection of art galleries craft shops and some lovely restaurants to experience whilst on holiday. The island has so much to offer for all ages and many happy memories will be made whilst there. Shop 3 miles pub and restaurant ¼ mile. " UK5951

Nice clean cottage, very comfortable. A little remote and no eateries nearby in the winter!

This was a wonderful holiday, the cottage was perfect in every way and a superb base from which to explore the Isle of Skye!

Beautiful house which was very well equipped. Lovely friendly welcome from the owner on arrival. Great pub in the village with good food and easy to walk to.

The accommodation lacked nothing with lots of extras, definitely not just a holiday cottage. Friendly owner only next door if needed for anything or recommendations. Very dog friendly. Also a pub with good food and dog friendly within a 5 min walk. Highly recommend this accommodation

Lovely place. Home from home. Local pub good food and friendly but of a wait for a table but worth it in the end.

Had a lovely stay, in a comfortable house in a beautiful place.

Cala Sona is a wonderful house to stay in. Jan is super friendly and the house is equipped with everything that is required, no scrimping on cutlery or utensils here. It is very spacious, the bathrooms and lounge are huge! Views from the dining table are awesome, there’s not many places you eat your breakfast whilst watching the Cuillins emerge from their morning cloak of mist AND see the birds at the feeders. A fantastic place to stay, quiet, peaceful, sunny and warm (we had a week of perfect weather!!). The local pub does very good food and is only a 5 minute walk away. The kids loved the full Sky TV package, which would be even more useful if the weather is not friendly and the swing in the garden got a lot of use. We had a wonderful time in Cala Sona, we’ve been to Skye many times over the years and this is the best house we’ve stayed in.

We were a family of 4; 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Cala Sona is a light, spacious, comfortable, clean house with every gadget that you could need for a week's holiday. The bed was the most comfortable I have experienced in a rented house. The owner, Jan, is lovely. It is situated in a comparatively quiet part of the island so you do have to drive quite a way to get to the main tourist attractions and towns, but we preferred it that way. There are walks just on the doorstep, there is a friendly pub round the corner that serves great food and any car journeys that you need to take are beautiful. I would happily recommend this house and I hope to stay here again some day

Nice place. Exterior needs a tidy up. Inside well presented needs some doors adjusting plus downstairs toilet needs fixing.

Cala Sona is a comfortable and warm cottage which is very spacious and clean. It has everything u could want. Lovely garden at the front and great views. Stairs up to top floor bedroom are unsuitable for people who are unsteady on their feet. Cottage is quite remote. There is a pub within walking distance. Carbost 3 miles away has a pub and small shop and also the Talisker Distillery which is great to visit. Overall we had a lovely holiday. The weather was kind to us being sunny but cold. The island has lots to offer and loads of glorious views.
