The cottage is one of 111 originally built as estate workers’ cottages for the Canford Estate which is now Canford School and they are known locally as Lady Wimborne Cottages. Their construction is attributed to the philanthropic work of Lady Charlotte Guest wife of Sir John Guest who was the owner of a vast Welsh iron and steel works followed by the work of their daughter-in-law Cornelia Lady Wimborne from whom the cottages took their name. The cottages were built between 1867 and 1904 and each has a number over the front door indicating the order they were built.\nThis light and airy tastefully styled cottage has original features such as lattice windows a wooden porch large ornamental door hinges and an ornamental fire surround in the bedroom. We spent Christmas at this gorgeous cottage it exceeded all expectations. It’s so homely, comfy beds, lovely modern bathroom, everything you could need. For us, the road was busier than we expected and noise can be heard but the owners have added secondary glazing on the windows to reduce this and it didn’t detract from our break. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Canford Magna is a beautiful village, out in the countrieside, yet really close to Poole and Bournemouth. The cottage was beautiful, with high ceilings, beautifully decorated and with all mod cons. Beds were comfortable, luxury bath/shower room. Top class accommodation. Would recommend a stay there. On arrival there were cakes and bubbly, making it a warm welcome, plus treats for the dog. Was there for 11 days and wanted to stay longer. Looking forward to staying there again.

Beautifully decorated, clean & spacious cottage. The 'goodies' on arrival were very welcome & generous. Although weather rather wet, the cottage was cosy & comfortable. Thank you

We have now stayed at the Canford Magna cottage 3 times. It is excellent and very good value for money. I have previously rated it my best holiday let ever, and it still lives up to that accolade. Book it and you will not be disappointed.

The cottage was superb. The welcome cakes and wine upon arrival was very thoughtful. The cottage was a definite home from home and beautifully furnished. The village is close to Wimborne for amenities and excellently situated for accessing lovely coast line and interesting National Trust properties. A place to definitely return to.

Perfect cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay... just wish the wi-fi was quicker but not really a major issue.

We had a great time. The house was very comfortable and had everything we could have asked for. The only down side is the road, but we knew about it before we went. It is very busy though. The beds, fittings and location were superb.
