Enclosed courtyard garden with sitting-out area. On road parking. No smoking.\n \u003e This delightful Grade II listed cottage is one in a row of similar properties set along the road which leads to the river and various scenic walks including Castlemans Way which leads to Poole. The cottage is one of 111 originally built as estate workers’ cottages for the Canford Estate which is now Canford School and they are known locally as Lady Wimborne Cottages. Their construction is attributed to the philanthropic work of Lady Charlotte Guest wife of Sir John Guest who was the owner of a vast Welsh iron and steel works followed by the work of their daughter-in-law Cornelia Lady Wimborne from whom the cottages took their name. The cottages were built between 1867 and 1904 and each has a number over the front door indicating the order they were built.\nThis light and airy tastefully styled cottage has original features such as lattice windows a wooden porch large ornamental door hinges and an ornamental fire surround in the bedroom. The open plan livingdining room leads to a sunny conservatory which opens to an enclosed courtyard. Upstairs there are two bedrooms the master benefiting from a walk-in wardrobe and a separate bathroom.\nThere is a bus stop close by for trips to the charming market town of Wimborne or to Poole with its award-winning sandy beach. There is so much to do in the area with Bournemouth Poole Salisbury and Dorchester all within easy driving distance as are The New Forest and Christchurch Harbour. Attractions to visit include Brownsea Island Beaulieu Motor Museum The Purbecks with the National Trust Corfe Castle and the seaside town of Swanage. Famous as ’Hardy Country’ many of Dorset’s towns and landmarks are recognisable from the novels of Thomas Hardy who was born in Dorchester. The county is renowned for its miles of beautiful beaches as well as Jurassic Coastline for stunning views and walks a World Heritage Site. For the outdoor enthusiast there is walking and wildlife centres such as Avon Heath and Moors Valley with cycle hire fishing Segway and orienteering. Water sports are available nearby. Beach 8 miles. Perfect cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay... just wish the wi-fi was quicker but not really a major issue.

We had a great time. The house was very comfortable and had everything we could have asked for. The only down side is the road, but we knew about it before we went. It is very busy though. The beds, fittings and location were superb.

Perfect in every way would highly recommended this cottage ????

Wonderful cottage with all the amenities you could ask for, on road parking but never had a problem with a space, beautifully presented and wife especially liked the welcome cakes ( I loved the wine to relax me after the six hour drive) really pet friendly, dog treats waiting on arrival .All in all a great place to have a relaxing holiday, or with Poole and Bournemouth only half an hour away a more lively one if you wish. Will definitely go back again.

Beautiful cottage. Cosy, everything you need. Everything within 10 to 30 minutes drive. Wimborne Minster, Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch , Dorchester, Lyndhurst and Burley. Ideal location if you are looking to explore. Road busy, noise not a problem as other reviews have suggested. Double glazed which seemed to suffice but not much of a footpath if intend walking a dog. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend without question and look forward to booking again in the future. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your wonderful cottage.

Lovely clean and comfortable cottage. Couldn't fault it. Would be quite happy to stay there again.

This is my second visit to this cottage. In 2017, I rated it the best holiday cottage I've stayed in (and I've stayed in lots). Today, it retains that accolade. It is superbly renovated, very comfortable and warm, with everything you need and some much appreciated welcoming treats. Whilst being fairly close to Wimbourne, it is also in a very convenient location for Pool, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Swanage and the New Forest. I recommend it highly and I am sure we will return next year, if not sooner.

Warm, comfortable and well-equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would definitely stay there again.

A lovely, cosy cottage with everything you need for a great holiday. Beautiful area to explore.

Lovely cottage. Well equiped. Beautiful bathroom. Wonderful location. Great walks around area. Only downside is that it is on a very busy road.

    out of 10

Lovely comfortable cottage, though limited outdoor space. Unfortunately Canford Magna is plagued by a constant stream of speeding traffic and with parking on the opposite side of the road crossing it is a constant worry especially when loading/unloading the car.

Lovely cottage in an excellent location.
