Lawned garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. 1-acre garden (shared with owner and other property on-site). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: No children, except babies under 6 months. There are drops in the grounds and an unfenced river in the garden, 20 yards.

Nestled in the secluded valley of the Dulas, with the sounds of the river flowing through the two acre garden, peace and tranquillity are real features here. Slate floors, exposed beams and thick stone walls all add to the character and make for a romantic holiday hideaway. Jasmine Cottage forms part of a traditional Welsh Chapel, dating from 1825. The owners live in the upper part of the chapel. Adjoining the property on the opposite bank of the river are oak woods scheduled as a SSSI, with paths that lead past a picturesque gorge with waterfalls and then on to the villages of Aberllefenni and Corris. It is ideal walking country, with easy reach of Snowdonia. Within half an hour’s drive are beaches at Ynyslas and Aberdovey. Closer still are the nature reserves at Ynys Hir (RSPB), Cors Dyfi (Osprey Project). The market town of Machynlleth and the Museum of Modern Art - Wales are worth exploring, as is the Centre for Alternative Technology just down the valley at Pantperthog. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Jasmine Cottage can be booked together with Honeysuckle Cottage (26471) to accommodate up to 4 guests.

If you are a nature lover then Jasmine Cottagee is the perfect venue. A tumbling river runs through the property garden and is host to the local heron. The trees are wrapped in moss and look like green velvet. The property is pretty islolated and wifi is a bit iffy but then we went to get away from all that and we were very pleasantly surprised by the welcome we got; fresh baked bread courtesy of Malcolm and Allison, along with milk and fresh eggs and even home-made shortbread, delicious. All in all it was a wonderful break and Allison and Malcolm were perfect hosts. Great area, we saw the red kites and newborn lambs, met the locals at the nearby pubs and were made to feel welcome by everyone we met. We will certainly return.

Excellent holiday cottage in beautiful scenery. The owner, Malcolm, was helpful and provided free milk, bread and eggs. Local walks in former Slateworks and places to visit locally. Easy access to Snowdonia and coastal towns.

This is the perfect place for a couple or someone to escape too, cozy, warm and comfortable. Owners were very friendly, and provided delicious homemade bread and shortbread on arrival. Scenery around the area is stunning. Local amenities aren't nearby but I knew this beforehand and made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. Would certainly stay there again.

Great out of the way location next to waterfall. Very welcoming owners and dog friendly with great walks straight outside the back garden gate. Cottage was a bit dark inside due to location on hillside but nice and cosy in the evenings. Very large for just 2 people.

We loved our stay here. The cottage and location are beautiful. If you want to get away from it all and be in nature, this is the place. Beautiful walks, literally at the bottom of the garden. The cottage is surprisingly spacious for two people, and has such a lovely feel. We felt really at ease and relaxed staying here. Our dogs loved it too! The local amenities (shops, etc) are not fantastic. But it’s not too long a drive into Machynlleth, where you can get everything you need. You don’t expect amazing local amenities in such a rural location, so just do a shop before you go. The owners, Malcolm and Alison were so friendly and welcoming. They even gave us a welcome pack of homemade shortbread, gorgeous fresh bread, eggs and milk, tea, coffee and sugar. We will definitely be returning.
