Welcome to Carloggas Cottage. A typical Cornish cottage built 150 years ago, modernised but retaining many of the original features it is in the quiet village of St Mawgan 4 miles from Newquay on the North Coast. St Mawgan is home to the Japanese Garden a beautiful retreat for meditation ideal for relieving stress. Boasting a post office and village stores, two pubs, and a beautiful church as well as being close to the A30 and Newquay airport. There are superb public transport links from the property the bus stop is a minutes’ walk and there are near by train stations as well as local taxis
The accommodation comfortably sleeps four in two bedrooms with a high chair and travel cot available if required. The main bathroom has a bath with shower over as well as a bidet! the en-suite has a shower cubicle, the kitchen is well equipped, and the living area is welcoming with its huge wood burner. Cornwall is well known for its sandy beaches and Newquay has some of the finest, popular with families, surfers and body boarders there is a beach to suit everyone with lessons available for those that are looking to learn. Fistral beach is the most well-known for surfing, it is also great for families with lots of facilities and lifeguards during summer months. Town beach is probably the busiest it is sheltered and is next to the harbour. If you are looking for somewhere quieter try Lusty Glaze or Crantock beach and for more adventurous Bedruthan, it is not easy to access and not suitable for people with mobility issues. There are plenty of activities to do all year round, exploring the rugged coastline, visiting the beautiful gardens, and to occupy little ones if the weather is bad you are spoilt with the choices available from theme parks to animal sanctuaries. Wood burner - We will provide enough kindling to get the fire going initially (colder months only). You will be expected to supply yourselves with enough wood and kindling to sustain and maintain the fire for the remainder of your stay. Please do not use any accelerant on our wood burner. This is a big health and safety risk for yourselves and all future guests.
