Drumnadrochit is a perfect place to base yourself and Carn Glas Cottage is a lovely holiday home in the village. From Drumnadrochit you have Loch Ness to the east, only a stone’s throw away - you can hop on a boat from near the village centre. Up the road is Inverness, only fifteen minutes away. Inverness is a lovely little city and the start and finish of the NC500 touring route. The Cairngorms National Park is only twenty minutes to the south from Inverness, too.
South from Drumnadrochit you can follow a road that branches off to Fort William and Ben Nevis (60 minutes) and Skye (75 minutes). And finally, the road to Cannich from Drumnadrochit leads you Scotland’s most beautiful glen, Glen Affric (30 minutes). The Great Glen Way passes through the village and the Kintail-Affric Way starts/finishes in the village. It is a dream spot for hikers, so many local routes and hill walks nearby. Cycling both on the road and on trails is very popular as well. It is advised to book for two weeks instead of one!
Shops, pubs, and restaurants all within 1 mile. Beach 8 miles.
