Although a little off the beaten track, this cottage is superb. It’s spotlessly clean, well equipped and very homely. The two showers and 3 toilets made a huge difference to us having 3 boys and 2 adults staying. The open plan layout is perfect for a family and dog. The garden area is safe and secure with lovely views and friendly donkeys to visit. All home comforts are provided and the information given is really useful for learning about the nearby amenities and attractions. Thank you for a lovely stay. We’d definitely return.

Excellent accommodation. Comfortable and very well equipped. It is located in the middle of Northumbria so it is a similar sort of distance from all attractions; a minimum of ~ 1/2 hour to any. Our visits included Hadrian's wall, Kielder, Holy Island, Alnwick Castle and Wallington Hall (recommended!). A stock of leaflets for attractions is there which were a great help. Travelling around is good, apart from the usual tail-gating drivers who are "familiar" with the roads, but never the traffic on them!! Locally there is a general store which is conveniently about 50 feet away! This had most basic things. Also, some good eating places. We particularly liked the Sunday Lunch at the Coach House.

Would recommend this beautiful home from home, has everything imaginable you need for a relaxing holiday. We took our choccy lab., beautiful area, good access to a good range of places to visit. Oh and local restaurant/pub dog friendly. Especially loved the friendly donkeys in the field to the rear of the property.

We had an amazing weekend in the Castle Colt and cannot recommend it highly enough. The property was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. Perfect location for exploring Northumberland. There is a shop a minutes walk away which sells everything you would need. The owners contacted us on the day of our arrival and again when we left to wish us a lovely weekend and to ask if everything went ok which was nice of them to do. The weather was amazing and the back garden is perfect for sitting in the sun all day. There are two very friendly donkeys in the field out the back who came to visit us regularly.

We had a wonderful time at Castle Holt. The cottage was very well appointed, beautifully decorated and well equipped. Great for adults and also for our 11 month old granddaughter. Would recommend this cottage for anyone who wants to stay in this location. The shop which was minutes away was excellent and well stocked and we enjoyed a great meal at one of the restaurants within walking distance.

We enjoyed a 4 night stay at Castle Holt. A very comfortable and well equipped house. It’s located just off the A696 which is ideal for exploring nearby towns, villages and the lovely Northumbrian countryside. There is a well stocked convenience store just a few yards away from property.

What a fantastic place to stay. The local pub, the DePercy, is excellent and very friendly. The cottage is in a good position for visiting Keilder Water, Hadrians Walk and the Scottish borders. We would definitely go back to stay again and highly recommend it.
