A good base to enjoy this lovely area Only 200 yards from Gildredge Park bowling greens and tennis courts, ½ mile from the town centre and railway station, these spacious and elegant holiday apartments with period features in a fine Victorian house are ideal centres from which to enjoy all aspects of a really varied holiday. McSweeney (ref 3536) and Prideaux (ref 3537) have a feature marble fireplace. Eastbourne is a fine town with a Victorian pier and excellent theatres hosting national productions both musical and dramatic at the Devonshire Park and Congress Theatres. Easily reached by road via M25 and A22 and is 1½ hours by train from London. There is also an International Tennis Tournament at Devonshire Park and County Cricket at the Saffrons Sports ground, all of these venues are within walking distance of the property. The Bluebell Steam Railway and Filching Manor Motor Museum are a short drive and the South Downs are close by for walking enthusiasts.Eastbourne now has a Marina and harbour village and there is also a fine swimming and leisure pool. Two excellent golf courses are within 1 mile, with horse riding 10 minutes drive. Sailing, windsurfing and fishing are available from the beach. Day trips to France operate from Newhaven 12 miles away. Shops and pub a short walk.

Prideaux apartment was very spacious, spotlessly clean, very light and airy and very comfortable.
Located just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Eastbourne, and railway station, bus stop just near property.
The owners are especially welcoming and helpful. We spent a lovely week there visiting Brighton, Lewes, and surrounding areas, without using our car. The Wednesday evening bandstand & firework display is worth seeing and along with a visit to The Hipperdrome theatre.
We would recommend this apartment to our friends & would definitely stay again.

Lovely owner available to help with any queries. Clean, cozy, spacious & well equipped flat. Nice park with a choice of 2 cafes 5 mins walk away. Ditto, Waitrose, The Lamb inn & Town Centre. I would gladly rebook this flat for my next essential visit to the area.

Host onsite, very approachable and friendly, no issues. Easy, relaxed and helpful when we had a breakage.
Very clean and tidy with everything you would want available. Slightly dated decor in some areas, but comfortable rooms and did not detract from overall experience so don't let it put you off as it is more friendly than a modern place. Lounge very comfortable, with thoughtfully provided books and some puzzles which was a lovely touch. Enjoyed the DVD player, wifi slow but functional. I found the bed too firm for my liking, but this is a personal preference.
Location is good - pizza place and Waitrose just up the road, short walk to town and on to the pier. Onsite parking.
