Jill & Alan made us very welcome, and were on hand if we needed anything. We really appreciated the welcome package of cake, home-made marmalade and 2 bottles of wine - thank you! Although there are few facilities in the immediate area, we were well placed for touring Lincolnshire fens & wolds & bird reserves - and made use of the excellent Co-op stores in surrounding villages.

This was our third visit to Caulton and we have already booked again for next year. Caulton is absolutely ideal for us as we have a keen interest in aviation and enjoy fishing and bird watching. The cottage is like home from home and is equipped with everything you need. Jill and Alan, the owners go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful holiday and are really lovely people. It is quite apparent that they have a wonderful appreciation of wildlife and nature with the number of nest boxes and feeding stations around the land. We love this place and so do our two dogs Bracken and Faby!

Oh my goodness, where to start? From the moment we arrived we knew we would love our stay at Caulton. A lovely warm welcome from the owners Jill and Alan as soon as we arrived along with freshly baked homemade scones, jam and marmalade. They made us feel so welcome, as well as our two black labs, it was like they were greeting long lost friends. The cottage was everything we could have wished for. Comfortable, exceptionally well equipped (scales and an ice bucket!! unheard of in any other cottage we've stayed at) spotlessly clean and ideally located for our needs. The first time we saw the typhoons from RAF Coningsby we were left speechless and the Spitfires were breath taking. Fabulous walks straight from the door which both we and the dogs loved and a couple of days we sat in the sunshine by the lake watching the fish, ducks - including 7 newly hatched moorhens chicks - and the vibrant kingfishers darting back and forth. Heaven!! Lincolnshire was a county we'd not visited before and we found it a revelation. I could wax lyrical about Caulton but the fact we've booked for a further two visits already says it all. Just one final word "Jill and Alan have set the standard to which all cottage rentals should aspire." NB - should the date read we stayed 13.05.19 it was in fact 13.04.19.

Lovely well-equipped comfortable welcoming cottage. Clean and yet dog-friendly (thank you for the bag of doggy gravy bones). And thanks too for the bottle of wine for the humans. The large, secure garden was great for our Jack Russell and for us to sit out in. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Caulton as a good touring base for this part of Lincolnshire. And also to watch the planes out RAF Coningsby.
