No smoking.\n Set in a quiet residential area of the sought after suburb of Cherry Hinton yet close to the centre of Cambridge Cavendish is a semi-detached house and is the perfect choice for those wishing to explore this great university city. With a peaceful enclosed garden to the rear it really is possible to enjoy a city break and still unwind. Those wishing to avoid driving and parking in Cambridge can leave the car behind and use the regular buses which run to the centre. There is also a cycle or walking route that takes you to the heart of the city. Cambridge has a wealth of things to do and see. Punting on the River Cam is a must as is one of the many walking tours that operate across this historical city. Enjoy an open top bus tour sit back and relax and enjoy the sights of this great city. The famous Fitzwilliam Museum is also well worth a visit and there are of course numerous places to shop eat and drink. Close by lies the Cambridgeshire Fens with Welney Wetlands a must for wildlife lovers and the small city of Ely where its magnificent cathedral has been dubbed ’the ship of the fens’ because of the way it rises up on the horizon as you approach. The Imperial War Museum Duxford is also close by and makes for a great day out. In fact when it comes to things to do you really will be spoilt for choice and you will most certainly be tempted to book a return to Cavendish just to fit it all in.     Very quiet location. When we contacted the owners because we had a question, we got an answer within minutes. We appreciated the welcome basket with food and wine, this was a great help for our first evening.

    We were very comfortable and had most things we needed. There was not a lot in the way of information and just one city map. The promoted easy bus into town was not and took us nearly an hour to get to the Tourist Information in Cambrige. We did not really have suitable weather to try the walk into town.

    We really enjoyed our stay at Cavendish, the owners made us feel very welcome, putting up a Christmas tree and decorations and leaving a generous hamper of festive goodies for us to enjoy. The house is warm, welcoming and tastefully furnished. All the items we could possibly need were provided. A happy stay was had by all, including our 2 dogs.
