It was a lovely place to stay. More than one front door key would have been useful. The local pub was excellent with good food and was a very short walk away. Amenities in the apartment are good, although the ensuite is a little small.

A lovely place to stay and directly overlooking the beach. A beautiful part of Cornwall and is well equipped with all you need for your stay. My only recommendation is that the owners leave a welcome pack for guests with info about the local area, pubs, walks and amenities.

The flat was not very private. The curtains in the bedrooms were far too thin - needed blackout linings. This is a problem when it gets light very early. Floors are very creeky. Apart from this the apartment is modern, comfortable and well appointed.

Celtic shores is a great place to stay very peaceful, lovely garden overlooking beach and sea, master bedroom en-suite with large wardrobes, twin room quite small no wardrobe or room for suitcases. Beds comfortable, very clean apartment had a restful week.

Fantastic accommodation, fully furnished and equipped to a high standard. Struggle to find any negatives but if being personal, larger bath towels and the creaking of floor boards, you cant creep around quietly! That's it. Would definitely recommend and return to stay at Celtic Shores. We had two cars which was a little difficult with parking as no visitors spaces, though you can park 5 mins walk away in open car park for £6 per day.

Lovely apartment, well equipped and beautifully clean on arrival. Other residents friendly and very helpful. Local area has a good pub for good pub grub(Inn-on-the-Shore) and an excellent Bistro Cafe (Blue Plate). Both recommended. Difficult to be critical as this is a great place in a lovely spot. To be really 'picky' - towels are not great quality and there are not enough of them. That said, all round a most enjoyable time in an excellent apartment - Thank you!

We were a little apprehensive on what to expect from Celtic Shores having read the reviews, but we need not have worried as it was beautiful. Very clean and had everything you need for a break. The owners have obviously recently updated the apartment to a high spec. The only suggestion would be a long mirror and a dressing table stool in the main bedroom otherwise it was perfect. There is not a lot to do in Downderry but The Copley Arms in Hessenford (about 4 miles away) provides some lovey meals. Unfortunately The Inn on the Shore in Downderry is still closed for refurbishment.

Vodaphone mobile does not work[ the owner is aware of this as there is a Vodaphone booster in box beneath the cooker] The intercom does not register in apartment this would explain why with above the housekeeper could not help with flowers for Mothering Sunday as you could not be told when arriving. Towels totally inadequate as previously pointed out and no welcome pack so take your own milk' Considering we were told the owner was there the previous weekend at the yearly owners meeting surprised that neither the extractor fan for the en suite worked nor the towel warmer in bathroom. If you are thinking of cooking take you own baking tray and tea towels as not provided. One point that I am surprised the owner did not query was the comment about wheelchair use. High threshold to get onto patio followed by a large area of deep gravel leads to a path to narrow for a wheelchair to get to the gate which when opens directly on a road on a hill. All the above are easily solved with a bit of thought and general checking of appliances' A word about the residents very helpful all will speak to you which adds to a nice ambiance to Celtic Shores

9 Celtic Shores met all our requirements and we were very pleased with how we found the apartment. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped. It was an ideal place to take my disabled mother as she was able to see the sea from the lounge and we were able to take her out in her wheelchair without any problems. We were surprised that there was no visitors book so that we could leave our positive comments and our thanks for the owners. We also like to read previous comments when in self catering accommodations as this often gives ideas for places to visit etc. The information regarding local restaurants could be a bit more up to date, The Inn on the Shore has obviously undergone a change of owners and is not serving food at the moment. But both the Smugglers Inn and The Waves restaurant in Seaton were extremely accommodating and friendly serving good food. Despite being at Downderry during very stormy weather we managed lots of walks without getting wet and experienced some amazing views of exciting rough seas. All in all a lovely week thank you.
