Superb property full of character and history, in fantastic grounds. Well equipped with eclectic library of books and DVDs and pool table and boules great distractions. Obviously old and therefore the inevitable odd issue but Nigel and Sue the caretakers are excellent and on hand to deal extremely efficiently with any problems.

A fabulous spacious house full of character with lovely grounds and a short walk to the town with several good restaurants. The downside is that it is a large old house with no heating. We visited in mid Sept and whilst weather was normal for the time of year the house was cold and jumpers indoors was the norm. there was one gas heater offered (you have to get your own canister) but that would have little effect in my opinion. There are two large open fireplaces which we were told we couldn't use but it really needed them to warm the core of the house.

The chateau needs a deep clean and an update. It was disappointing to arrive to find toilet rollls with very little toilet tissue. The WiFi was slow and unreliable very frustrating. Sandy and Tony were affable hosts and not intrusive. The location is ideal and a very near to very good restaurants an easy walk away. The resident ducks were delightful. English tv channels went down well with the kids and adults. The local market was worth a trip. The guns, swords and stuffed animals were disconcerting for the children.
