This cottage was disappointing, the parking is difficult, the cottage itself is very tired, in the main it was clean but the bed and the settees all need to be renewed. The kitchen is adequate . The garden was full of leaves which with two dogs made it extremely difficult to clear up after them. The lounge area is extremely dark and the lighting did little to alleviate this. The situation is inclined to be noisy from the adjacent main road. We would not use this cottage again.

The cottage was quite comfortable for what we required (although the tv was a little tempremental!) and the owners very friendly and supportive but not intrusive. However people need to be aware that the position of the cottage traffic wise is really quite noisy and not the rural idyll you might be looking for. Very convenient location for the coast and Canterbury.

The cottage was clean and well equipped. However the sofa's were uncomfortable, the TVs was very old and the batteries in the remote were dead and there were no replacements so we had to purchase our own. The garden was unkempt and grass not cut or hedges trimmed. A tree fell down across the front path during our stay which could have resulted in a nasty out come if we had been on the path at the time. Chalkpit Cottage has charm and lots of character but the outside aspect is disappointing due to the derelict state of the one on the other end of the trio. Overall it's a little tired and needs updating. We did enjoy our stay nonetheless.

We had difficulty finding the cottage as the directions were vague. The property was lacking security as the double glazed doors were not fitting adequately. It is however perfectly positioned for visiting the area and centrally placed.

A few reviews said it - TV needs updating , can’t beleive there are still 4:3 crt out there ! That being said loads of channels (not that we watched too much). WiFi was a nice touch. Clean and tidy and great walks for the dogs. Use it as a base to travel around Kent in a car, as there is only a pub locally )this didn’t bother us as was a ‘go and visit the area’ holiday for us.

Location of the property is great for exploring Canterbury and surrounding areas. Owner was friendly and welcoming. Overall the property is very tired and in need of a bit of tlc. This didn’t effect our stay however it would have made it more likely for us to return another time. There is a leak in the bathroom which we were told about but meant that the floor was constantly wet and slippery. The garden was great for the dog although doors in and out of the property are very difficult to close. Ideal for a couple or someone who just needs a base to travel from.

The cottage was clean and well-equipped, but it was quite tired and in need of some updating. The garden was in the shade pretty much all the time and it was quite untidy. There was a distinct smell of dog in the cottage, particularly in the conservatory which meant we didn't really use that room. The TV and kettle both broke when we were on holiday, but the owners were helpful and did sort the issues out as soon as they could. The cottage is in a village but there are no amenities other than a pub, but the location of the cottage is perfect for visiting Canterbury, Dover and the coast.

Really enjoyed our stay, thankyou to the owners who were helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. A few little things are looking tired such as the sofas and the TV but everything worked fine. Couldnt figure out if there was a blind in the attic room which might be worth people checking if they need all the rooms. Pub across the road excellent. Cottage on the main road so very easy to get around the local area. Other reviews say the cottage was noisy because of traffic but we didn’t notice this particularly ... especially not at night.

Nice house but location isn't best because 50 yards away from very busy roundabout where constantly car /ambulance running day /night. House is clean but the floor anywhere is creaking and some bed also it's very disappointed.
