This was a break for my parents who were celebrating their 5oth wedding anniversary! They absolutely loved it and would definitely go again. Thank you to the owner on their behalf for a beautiful property.

We had a lovely holiday in this well appointed barn. We had a few issues with the heating and cooking using the Aga. The owner quickly resolved the issue and even brought heaters for us to use. The village is beautiful and so convenient for The Lakes and the Dales. Yes we would stay here again.

Excellent location. Barn was lovely and quirky, with modern furnishings together with antique pieces a 'cool' mix. Would definitely return

The village is excellent, with good roads to Appleby, Kendal, and, of course the M6 motorway. The Chapel Barn is a wonderful conversion with all the amenities you could wish for, the location is really peaceful, very quiet, and wonderful views. Hope to visit again soon. Anne & Roger.

Excellent apart from heating! Owner's came and left two heaters and but the engineer said he couldn't get there because of the snow. Otherwise, the cottage was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay.

Great cottage in a great location! Lovely, quirky & comfortable with a Rayburn in the kitchen to keep everything toasty. Orton village is charming & friendly, there’s even the fabulous Kennedys Chocolate factory and coffee shop! The village pub - The George - serves good food and beer and there’s a well stocked and friendly village post office/shop for any emergency needs. We celebrated the New year at Chspel barn and loved it. The only negative was that there could have been more glasses and mugs provided - but this wasn’t a huge issue.

Chapel Barn is a lovely barn conversion, slightly quirky but that adds to the enjoyment of being somewhere other than home. There are some really nice touches in the way the property blends the old and new, the garden looks like a nice well kept place to enjoy the warmer weather. The whole property is fairly well equipped and on the whole, it provided everything we needed. It would benefit from some updating of the sofas and mattresses which would go a long way to making the cottage really excellent accommodation. Orton is a lovely village, friendly pub, great walks on the doorstep and close enough to the Lake District so that we could dip into the honeypot and then happily come away!

A beautiful cottage in an amazing setting. The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed to relax. Picture postcard does not do it justice. Quirky, quaint and qiute exceptional.

I have only scored 7 on comfort and equipment as we found the crockery was a bit lacking as we cook all our meals in and found there wasn't enough dishes for oven etc or dishes for cereal and dessert . The comfort in cottage was excellant as it was very warm and cosy and beds very comfortable . Really enjoyed stay as it was in a good position for all our trips out .
