No smoking. This single-storey, detached holiday cottage makes an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful North Devon countryside. The cottage has been thoughtfully converted, and the enclosed patio is an ideal suntrap from which to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This part of north Devon offers some spectacular coastal scenery, with dramatic cliffs and rocky headlands interspersed by sheltered bays. The nearby seaside resort of Ilfracombe, 7 miles, is built around its busy fishing harbour, from which regular boat trips run to Lundy Island in the summer. Other fascinating places to visit include Watermouth Castle, Arlington Court (NT) and Marwood Gardens. Shop 500 yards, pub 1½ miles.

We loved it and so did the dog it seemed home from home definitely recommend it and the owners were so accommodating

Unfortunately we had to leave early. The location is good but it’s a shame that there is nothing like a pub or restaurant you can walk to safely on a footpath. The cottage is very small I can’t imagine 4 people in there.
Chapel cottage is in a stunning location , lots of homely features and lovely to arrive to find a pint of milk a packet of biscuits plus enough teabags/coffee to make a drink on your arrival.
Quite near the road but depending on what you want it is quite a way from any beaches or larger villages and towns with basic amenities such as a shop . (There was a garage shop and Post office very close but only stocked the bare essentials.)
But the view from our bedroom was amazing and to wake listening to the birds singing just made each morning relaxing and set the stage for the day. It really does depend on what you want from your holiday , we were after quiet relaxation and that's exactly what we got . We were 4 adults and a dog and the cottage was just about big enough for us all without getting in each others way. The owners who lived nearby were so helpful providing lots of useful local information . Nothing was too much trouble .

Super location and cottage, warm welcome from owners. Tranquil yet within easy reach of Barnstable and other great places. Our favourites were Saunton Sands, Hale beach, the Heddon valley and Luton and Lynmouth. Would definitely recommend and we hope to return.
