It offers wonderful views solitude great walking and is close to many places of interest. Grisedale is about 3 miles from the famous SettleCarlisle railway and the station of Garsdale. It is just off the A684 between the lively towns of Hawes 8 miles home of Wensleydale cheese and Sedbergh 7 miles. The nearest pub serving good food and a selection of real ales is about 2 miles away. Grisedale was once famous as the ’The Dale that Died’ after the book and TV documentary of 1975 but is now a beautiful setting for a peaceful holiday in wonderful natural surroundings. The area is a paradise for bird watchers with birds of prey owls curlew oyster catchers lapwing and grouse. Wildlife includes red squirrel stoat hare and deer. There is fantastic walking potential with the cottage being close to the Pennine Way the Three Peaks and the Howgill Fells. The Ingleborough area provides all the wonders of limestone scenery with its caverns and potholes and the Lake District is only a short drive away. Thank you for a good stay. The cottage is warm, comfortable and very well equipped. Sadly we had a lot of rain whilst on holiday but also some sunshine.

Nice place lovely views away from it all very quiet lots of sheep for neighbors

I am not sure how to score local ammenities because there are none. That is the attraction of this cottage. Located in a calm and peaceful valley with sheep and geese for company. Beautiful location. Perfect cottage. We are 100% going back next year. The only downside was there was nowhere for the dogs to run. The cottage has a fenced garden but wherever else you go there are free-range sheep.

A cottage with lots of character in a stunning location. Clean and well equipped.

Lovely quiet place to stay. Quite remote but that is part of the charm. Beautiful area.

This is a beautifully converted former chapel in a remote and somewhat isolated location, which suited us down to the ground. Peaceful and quiet, lots of wildlife.

very nice cottage, there was everything we needed and the location was remote but not cut off. no wifi and a two mile drive/walk for a mobile signal. Bliss. Thank You!

Very clean, well equipped cottage. Remote, quiet, peaceful. Easy to get to Dales Walks and to Lake District, as well as local walks from the cottage. The cottage description was very accurate.
