Set in two acres of landscaped gardens with beautiful country views, Cherry Bank is a delightful, detached stone cottage which provides holiday accommodation in a peaceful and secluded setting. This superb, traditional cottage has been completely renovated by the owner, a local horticulturist. Approached via its own sweeping drive with flower beds and lawns, it nestles in the Sutherland countryside. The main living room with dining area is superbly presented, with deep comfortable sofas and plenty of space for up to six guests. The large kitchen is fully fitted, with integral appliances and a breakfast bar, and there is a double bedroom on the ground floor adjoining the main shower room. Open tread stairs in the main living room lead up to two further bedrooms, one with a large en-suite bathroom. All bedrooms are very attractively presented with colour co-ordinated soft furnishings. The gardens are a real delight, with lawns, flower beds, mature trees and colourful shrubs which surround the cottage and provide a haven for wildlife. A large decking area is ideal for al fresco dining or just sitting and enjoying the peace and tranquillity.
The cottage is set off a quiet lane, known as The Fairy Glen, and is just 5 minutes away from Migdale Loch, a lovely area to walk and explore on foot or by bike. There are numerous places to visit in the area and plenty of sporting and countryside pursuits, including fishing, mountain biking, hill-walking, sailing and kayaking. Golfing enthusiasts are spoilt for choice, with Royal Dornoch, Tain and Bonar Bridge all within a few minutes’ drive. The historic village of Dornoch is well worth a visit, with its beautiful 13th-century cathedral constructed of mellow sandstone, a variety of small and unusual shops and a superb, award-winning sandy beach, all just 10 minutes’ drive from Cherry Bank. Heading west for 4 miles is the village of Bonar Bridge, where there are restaurants, bars and the superb waters of the Kyle of Sutherland. There are some excellent mountain bike trails here, as well as salmon fishing, with permits available in season. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Comfortable cottage. Bedrooms small but adequate. No internet access. Quiet, peaceful, location. Lovely decking area and views at the front of the house. Lovely woodland, moorland, loch walk within walking distance (or short drive) of the house. Nearby Dornoch attractive with some nice coffee shops (try upstairs in the courtroom), deli and a coop for the basics. Dornoch's sandy beach stretches away in both directions. There was a comprehensive welcome pack and the cottage was well supplied - much appreciated as there were no shops or facilities nearby. Dunrobin Castle is a nice day out.

We had a lovely stay at Cherry Bank. On arrival we were greeted by beautiful gardens and a very lovely welcome pack which included everything you need for a cuppa after a long drive. The setting is stunning and the house lovely, spacious and clean. The house is perfect for spending some quality family time together just relaxing. Will definitely be recommending Cherry Bank to friends and family. Thank you for having us.

Lovely cottage, semi remote location. Local amenities a short drive away. Very generous welcome hamper upon arrival. Large garden area. Inner garden around front of cottage fenced off and suitable for dogs. Owner was polite and friendly. We cannot fault this cottage. We had a fantastic time here.

Great house. Warm and cosy ( the woodburner in the online photos doesn't work, but the central heating is very good. Atmosphere would be really lovely if the woodturner was reinstated) Comfy beds, gorgeous garden and deck, (well fenced and looks 'dog proof' but beware- our escape - master dogs made it out to the wider garden in a couple of minutes, and a local dog arrived, despite the end of drive gate being closed, several times so there must be a way in!) Great power shower, everything worked well. Only complaint was there was no hoover. There are hard floors with rugs throughout, but a hoover would still be useful.

We booked the cottage for Christmas week and expected it to be decorated for the festive season, so that was our first disappointment, because of the pictures on the website we assumed that the log burner would be working, it wasn't which was our second disappointment. The cottage was actually freezing inside when we arrived on the 22nd and it took us until the 24th to thaw out and get the cottage warm, third disappointment. The downstairs bedroom had a damp smell which was very off putting. We all felt that a little more effort could have been made by the owner.

A clean comfortable and well equipped cottage with a secure enclosed garden for the dogs. Location is lovely for peace and quiet and really switching off from every day life. Owner was friendly and the welcome pack was a nice touch.
