Nice spacious cottage in a pretty village with a great garden, easy to park two cars outside each day. Not much passing traffic but easy to access nearby main roads. Kitchen well equipped once you get all the cupboards to open. Boiler could do with replacing - we didn't always have enough hot water with 6 plus a baby. Fairly clean on arrival but not perfect. Nothing like a pint of milk etc left as a 'welcome pack'. Lack of contact from caretaker pre-arrival to advise of timings despite many attempts, but the cottage was ready on arrival at 3pm. Could do with new garden furniture and a barbecue ideally. Pub next door pretty good but wise to book if you want to eat (serves Palmer's Ales which are everywhere around the area) All in all we did have a good stay. Would we go back? Maybe, mostly for the village location, dog friendly aspect and it having two double bedrooms.

Great cottage full of period character, beautiful location. Good garden for the dog and great views over local countryside. Beers in the pub next door went down very well after a busy day walking or down on the beach. The only negative was the shower in the bath is a bit old school, easy for us to get in and out but tricky if you are elderly.

Cottage felt cold when we first arrived but soon warmed up. In general it was well equipped and had everything we needed. Only real issue was the shower. Shower head didn’t attach securely and wasn’t powerful enough which we found a little frustrating . Cottage was perfectly located next to the lovely pub and we had a great week.

This is a wonderful cottage in a great location, well laid out, nice pub next door and we love it, this was our 2nd visit in 3 years. The only downside is that the cottage feels a bit neglected, in need of a bit of love and care. Would love to go back soon.

Had a really nice week in Chestnut Cottage with our families. It is well equipped and exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and spaciousness and we managed to work with there being only 1 bathroom. The only downside is that you have to drive quite a way down narrow lanes to get anywhere.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at Chestnut cottage but the problem is now it is looking a bit tired, it needs to have some money spent on it.The central heating when we turned it on only heated certain radiators regardless of if the thermostats were on. When we used the washing machine the patio flooded as the drain outside was blocked. The table mats are the same ones that were there the first time we stayed and are very tatty. The duvets are 13.5 tog and are very heavy, again they are the same ones as have always been there. We take our own when we stay there.I did leave a note to say about the heating and the blocked drain but don't know if any action has been taken.
