Lovely kitchen and handy location in Bakewell, which is very pleasant. However, the rest of the cottage was not up to standard for the price charged. It was supposed to accommodate 6 people but 6 people would not be able to sit together in the sitting room. The mattresses on all the beds were very uncomfortable and did not make for a good night's sleep. The cottage was very clean but everything except the kitchen ie furniture and soft furnishings seemed well past their use by date.It could be so much pleasanter.

Wonderful weekend with adult offspring and partners celebrating significant birthday. The cottage is ideally located in quiet street (apart from church bells ringing) a short walk from the centre of Bakewell The cottage is very well equipped, with an outdoor seating area where we enjoyed alfresco breakfast. Church Cottage is deceptively spacious. Our party of 6 adults found plenty of room to relax. We were impressed by the extensive and eclectic library of books and games

Perfect position for exploring, the cottage sits in a lovely position in the pretty village of Bakewell. Beds are comfy, some of the pictures are a bit scary, gave us the willies... cottage is clean & fairly well equipped. Love the story of the cottage renovation. The parking at the rear of the property is a bonus but rather tight if you have a big car! We loved watching & feeding the birds every day. Lovely break.

Our party of four adults and two small children aged 5 and almost 2 had a lovely long weekend at Church cottage. The house in on three levels with a large kitchen diner overlooking a pleasant garden area. The bathrooms are not of a high standard, but are adequate and there is a useful downstairs loo. The kitchen is well equipped, but the fridge is quite small. The heating is very efficient Andy there is plenty of hot water. Two problems arose for us. First we had two cars, but the parking area was not large enough for two family cars. One of the cars had to be parked a good 5 min walk away as the whole residential area is permit only parking. Second, there are a lot of stairs in the house which was a problem with the smaller child who had to be watched constantly. Also there is no high chair or booster seat. The cot is the travel variety and we had to supply our own bedding.

Lovely period cottage with log fire. Very comfy beds. Fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of games and books for the bad weather, but we did manage 2 nice long walks around Bakewell/Chatsworth. Nice garden area.
