We found it uncomfortable that the owners of the cottage, who were staying in their cottage next door, went into the house whilst I we were out.

If you'd like to have peace and quiet, stunning views and the best equipped house we've stayed in (and we've stayed in much more expensive holiday cottages) then Church House is for you. The birds in the front and back garden are varied - we were entertained by a family of spotted Woodpeckers, Nuthatches and Great Tits. We met the owners of Church House who were staying for the week in their other property next door and had nothing but kindness and consideration from them. Ulpha feels nicely remote and the road to the village is narrow and winding in places but the scenery is exceptional. We found no mobile signal inside the house (EE) but a landline is available for emergencies. Church House is equipped to cater for all ages and tastes. We thought the hints and tips notices very helpful. Thank you to David and Shelagh (and Bruich the lovely dog) for the warm welcome and a fabulous week.

This is our 6th visit on as many years to this beautiful cottage in the stunning Dudden Valley. The location is very remote, but that’s what is so lovely about it, it’s a place to find peace. The cottage has everything you need to make your stay comfortable and cosy, very clean and well cared for. The walks are great and lots straight from the door. We will be back for sure again. Could never tire of this beautiful place.

The best cottage we have ever been to and the only one we have ever gone back to. Great walks straight out of the door with the dog. Your own bit of river to play and relax by. The house is fantastic and has more than you will need. Games room is a bonus. Great place in every way.

Weather was overcast and wet,but that’s what you get in The lakes. Walks were good. Food in local pubs is very good.

A wonderful place to stay! The cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. It is very well equipped and we were amazed at the contents. It was perfect for our golden retriever who has cruciate ligament problems - the cottage even came with a stair gate on the stairs! A lovely enclosed garden, the convenience of the post office shop next door and incredible walks right from the front door. We had not realised quite how beautiful the South West Lakes are. The quality of the food served in the local pubs is high and they were very welcoming. The weather we had, especially on our first day was terrible - never been so wet - and it just didn't matter! Very quiet (except for us) - the air was incredible! One of the best places I have ever stayed.
