The Duddon Valley is a jewel in the crown of Cumbria situated between Coniston and Eskdale remote unspoilt and perhaps the most idyllic corner of the Lake District. The Duddon Valley will delight walkers mountain bikers climbers nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. The tiny villages of Ulpha and Seathwaite are two focal points of the valley. Seathwaite situated near the end of the ancient Walna Scar road boasts the 16th century Newfield Inn where good home-cooked food real ales and a warm welcome await all day all year.     We really enjoyed our week in Church House. The house is situated in an idillic location in the Duddon valley surrounded by beautiful scenery and diverse array of wildlife. Fortunately we were blessed with some nice weather for the majority of our stay which allowed us to explore some of the local walks as well as many of the more well known tourist attractions in the Lake District. The house itself was well equipped and very clean, providing our family of five with everything we needed to enjoy a week away from it all.

    Lovely holiday cottage. We arrived in July 2020, and were the first family to have a holiday at Church House after the coronavirus lockdown. The attention to detail and cleanliness were excellent. We couldn’t have asked for more. The owners had clearly gone to great lengths to make sure everything was sanitized before our arrival, this meant we felt very comfortable staying at the property. The kitchen facilities were great so there was no need to eat out. The wood burner was lovely in the evening after a long days out exploring and walking in the fells. Our two teenage girls were happy as they had excellent WiFi, Netflix and comfort bedrooms. Perfect! A great stay, we would love to go back one day. Ps We gave only a 5 for local amenities but that was because the nearby post office and local pub were both closed in the aftermath of the lockdown. A couple of weeks later and they most likely would have been open, so that rating may well have improved. Please don’t let it put you off!

    After arriving 24hrs late due to car problems we were so glad we'd made it to the cottage. It was an amazing house, very spacious, very well equipped. Owners helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend to friends and anyone thinking of booking.

    We had a fantastic time staying at Church house. It is a beautiful cottage set in a beautiful location. The owners should be extremely proud, their hard work and efforts to make you feel at home were the best we have seen Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday.

    We have had a very good time in this lovely, well equipped cottage! It was out tenth autumn break in the Lake District and Wales, and this was one of the best cottages so far!

    We found it uncomfortable that the owners of the cottage, who were staying in their cottage next door, went into the house whilst I we were out.
