    This property is situated in the beautiful town of Llangollen and is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. The cottage is a comfortable retreat in which to relax and unwind as well as providing an ideal base from which to explore the town’s attractions, the local area and the beauty of north Wales. Church Street is one of the oldest streets in Llangollen and until the 19th Century was the main road from London to Holyhead. In 1815 Thomas Telford began his construction of the new A5 taking all the traffic away from Church Street. The street’s name comes from the Church of Saint Collen and the original church was founded by the Saint in the late 16th Century. Collen was an Irish warrior and religious figure who lived for a time as a hermit on Glastonbury Tor. The church has been altered and rebuilt over the years, the amazing carved oak ceiling dates from the 15th Century.

    This charming property has been sympathetically renovated maintaining original features such as beams and wattle and daub walls wherever possible. It dates back to 1695 and was once one of the Quaker meeting rooms. It is situated on the banks of the River Dee overlooking Castell Dinas Bran and is well equipped with added luxuries such as TVs in all the bedrooms, iPod docking stations/radio and free Wi-Fi. Number 9 is approached through a gated courtyard. The cottage has an open plan living area with exposed beams, a wood burning stove and a Juliet balcony overlooking the river. The fully fitted kitchen leads through to the separate utility room with access to the patio. The patio is right over the river with a dining area and a bench. The main bedroom on the riverside of the cottage and has a double bed while the other bedroom has twin beds. There is a shower room serving both bedrooms.

    Church Street 9 can be booked together with Church Street 21 (CC614029) and Church Street 23 (CC614030) to accommodate up to 11 guests.
