It makes an ideal base for families or couples looking to explore this unspoilt area of south west Scotland. A particularly attractive feature of the property is the delightful summerhouse at the top of the garden which enjoys simply stunning views of the harbour and the bay. The area the Rhins of Galloway boasts idyllic scenery and amazing seascapes rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf Stream. There are many beautiful gardens to explore including the world renowned Logan Botanical Gardens. The area boasts many other pretty little ports like Sandhead Portpatrick and the RSPB Scotland Mull of Galloway nature reserve where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. Harbour porpoises dolphins seals otters and minke whales can also be spotted. Walking is a delight whether clifftop beaches hills or forests. It is a cyclist’s paradise with the world famous 7Stanes within easy reach. The town of Stranraer offers a selection of shops and a few miles further on is Cairnryan home to the ferry which makes regular daily trips back and forth to Ireland another great day out.     What a wonderful cottage and location! Loved being by the sea and the dog loved walking round the beach and harbor! The cottage has everything you could need and very cosy. My family had a wonderful holiday - would highly recommend.

    There is a small but pricy general store in the village and thats pretty much it for amenities, hence the 5, but it’s not a problem if you have a car, and anyway, everything else more than makes up for it. The cottage is exactly the spot for us to unwind, it’s quiet, located right across from the beach and just a few minutes from some excellent walks. We were there in November and were very comfy and warm in the evenings after days out in the pouring rain and bracing winter gales! The owners are particularly nice and if there are any issues, are prompt and courteous in sorting them immediately. In all this is a lovely place and having been twice now, we will probably make it one our regular destinations.

    It was a lovely cottage and just by the beach so it was great for taking the dog. Very spacious and well equipped. Did book for local café/restaurant on last night but when got there was closed and no phone call to warn us. Still minor issue on the enjoyment of holiday.

    We had a lovely time. The cottage is beautiful and so close to the beach. The home is spacious and well equipped. The surroundings are absolutely gorgeous too. Had a lovely week there.
