Suite 1 is part of these beautifully appointed holiday suites which(refs 30984, 30985, 30987, 30988 and 30989) offer contemporary interiors and facilities in the Victorian Claremont House, and they benefit from some exceptional extras, including a fully equipped gym and 6-seater hot tub shared by all guests, and an excellent hair and beauty salon offering a wide range of treatments to help you make the most of a relaxing holiday. The properties are within walking distance of the award-winning beach at Sandown Bay with its miles of golden sand, and also the popular golf course close by. Sandown is a truly traditional beach resort and is the ideal location for any family holiday. There is a pier with amusements, children’s play areas, pitch and putt, the Isle of Wight Zoo and Dinosaur Isle at the northern end of the esplanade towards Yaverland and Culver Cliff. Other island attractions include Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK and The Needles, with chair lift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay, are only a short drive away. Other places to visit include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Isle of Wight Pearl, a donkey sanctuary and Calbourne Water Mill, which has a 17th-century working watermill. Osborne House and Gardens (Queen Victoria’s holiday residence), Carisbrooke Castle and the sailing town of Yarmouth are worthy of a visit. Cowes in the north west of the island is renowned for its sailing. Also within easy reach are vineyards and quaint villages, such as Godshill, Old Shanklin and Brighstone with some thatched cottages. Beach 400 yards. Shops 100 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

We really enjoyed our stay and Claremont House and Chris was lovely.
The hot tub and spa was a lovely addition to the place, although the hot tub could have done with a good clean and a couple of the nozzles weren't working properly.
Off street parking was a plus if a little congested at times.
This place was advertised as a luxury apartment but for me it lacked the luxury part which is reflected in my review. If this hadn't have been advertised as luxury my review would be very different as it's a nice place to stay.
The following is what took away the luxury part for me:
No housekeeping all week, only 1 spare loo roll provided and no spare bin bags.
The bed was very soft and could do with a new mattress. The bedding had a rough pattern on the duvet cover and pillow cases, I would suggest changing these for plain ones.
The towels were too small and mismatched, consider replacing with matching bath sheets.
There was a random freezer in the bedroom, would never use it because of the noise it would make, so just remove it.
Consider adding some curtains in the bedroom because the sun comes through the slats in the very nice wooden blinds and shined straight into my face from about 5/6am.
The light in the bathroom was a waste of time, could barely tell it had been switched on, consider upgrading to a brighter unit/bulb.
Other than that everything else was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
