Tastefully and comfortably furnished the cosy living room has a delightful open fire ideal at any time of the year and there is also a wet room.\nWithin a short drive is the popular market town of Blairgowrie this is a great location for exploring these beautiful parts of Perthshire which are renowned for its soft fruit growing. Keen walkers will enjoy the nearby Cateran Trail and there are numerous cycle routes criss-crossing the area. For golfers there are plenty of courses including a championship course in Blairgowrie itself as well as internationally famous Gleneagles St Andrews and Carnoustie further afield. In winter the ski slopes at Glenshee are within easy reach and the cities of Perth Dundee or Edinburgh make good days out. Cycling fishing and tennis are nearby and excellent walking is available in the Angus Glens or explore the sandy beaches strung out along the east. Shop pub and restaurant 1 mile.     We very much enjoyed our stay at Clayhills Cottage. Glad we had a 4x4 for the road up to it though! Very rough and bumpy. The cottage was warm, clean and comfortable. The owner kept us supplied with coal and logs for the fire, which was wonderful. Kitchen is well equipped.. except for a fish slice, strangely... but it has one now! Beds are cosy and comfy, if a little low down (but we're a tall family!) and the shower is nice and hot. Some thoughtful touches with dvds, games and books, a torch, hairdryer and some essential items in the kitchen cupboards, such as salt and cooking oil. WiFi was good too. My only criticism is the lack of a decent mirror. I had the foresight to bring my own magnifying mirror with me, so at least I could see to put on my makeup. A couple of decent dressing mirrors wouldn't go amiss! I would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting peace and quiet and privacy, but within about 2 miles of all amenities (including a huge Tesco) and things to do and see. We can thoroughly recommend the Old Cross Inn for dinner. A mile or so back towards Blairgowrie... the food was excellent. Great base for exploring beautiful Perthshire and beyond.

    A great cottage in a lovely secluded environment with great views, especially of the milky way on a clear night. The only thing missing for a pet friendly holiday is the lack of a secure space to let the pups out.

    Excellent stay at Clayhills Cottage. Great to have a log fire on the wet and cold days. All that we wanted in a cottage with the added bonus of some super local shops and restaurants that made are stay complete.
