It is situated on a working farm but has its own separate driveway and entrance. It has been finished off to a good standard with tasteful decor and furnishings throughout. The open plan living area gives the property a spacious welcoming feel with stylish leather sofas a high backed fireside chair rocking chair and easy to clean flooring. Original beams add to its character and charm and the wood burner is perfect for relaxing in front of on a chilly evening. The underfloor heating system always ensures a cosy warm welcome to all guests as does the welcome pack which includes tea coffee milk hot chocolate bread and some scrumptious cookies or cake. The cottage provides an excellent base for exploring the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Coast.\nThe area is surrounded in stunning scenery and is ideal for keen ramblers and cyclists as it overlooks Cringle Moor and the famous Wainstones on the Cleveland Way. Other spectacular walks can be found close by at Roseberry Topping Kildale Captain Cook’s Monument and Carlton Bank. The beautiful picturesque village of Great Ayton is only a couple of miles away and is steeped in history especially with its connections with Captain Cook. There is a museum in the town that used to be Captain Cook’s schoolroom. Tuck into a refreshing Suggitts ice cream on the river bank of the River Leven. It is an ideal location for a relaxing picnic. The historic market town of Stokesley is only a couple of miles away with its distinguished wide cobbled streets lined with many shops pubs and restaurants and lots of interesting Georgian and Victorian buildings. 9 hole golf course driving range leisure centre and swimming baths nearby. Travelling slightly further afield you can appreciate other beautiful areas within the National Park. The Esk Valley Railway allows you to get on board a steam train. Visit Grosmont Goathland Heartbeat country or explore the market town of Helmsley and the pretty coastal resorts of Robinhoods Bay Saltburn Staithes and Whitby for a trip to the seaside. Shop 2½ miles pub and restaurant 2 miles.\nBetty’s Byre can be booked together with Rupert’s Stable CC233098 to accommodate up to 10 guests. Wow what a fantastic Cottage. Immaculately clean, warm and spacious. Loved it, everything we needed. Enjoyed our walks into Great Ayton and Stoksley with the dogs. Stunning views along the way and plenty of dog friendly places to eat when we got there. A restful break, was lovely to have a chance to breathe and relax. Thankyou to Andrea and family for all their hard work and thoughtfulness in making our stay a memorable one. Will definitely return again soon!

This is a working farm so if you don’t want to drive through a muddy farmyard or have a view of cows then don’t come here, but that would be a great shame because you would miss the opportunity to stay in a lovely, warm, comfortable, clean and spacious barn conversion with everything you need and loads of interesting countryside and coastal locations on your doorstep with owners who care. Definitely recommend.

Don’t expect luxury... very basic and not to clean. Woken every morning at 6 as there is a cow shed just opposite the front door and the farmer starts cleaning out. Shower good Kitchen ok...did not like the old curtains and duvets covering the sofas .

Just enjoyed a short break in Betty's Byre. The cottage was comfortable and very roomy. The farm is in itself secluded, bur with great views. However, it is within a few minutes drive from two local villages, and is ideal for both main and rural roads for exploring. I would thoroughly recommend it.

The Chapman family made us feel really welcome, a fabulous 'hamper' on arrival with holiday essentials (wine) included. The accommodation was spotless and even though you are on a working farm there was little noise or smell ! The children even went into the milking parlour and bottle fed calves. We will defiantly return.
