Enjoyable family holiday had, a little worried initially about the heating as Northumberland in October/November is "Cold"!!!!! But this was fine and appeared to come on at the right times, although as other reviews point out you cannot control this. Like the other reviews the lack of a shower was an issue in relation to comfort and ease, so certainly I would advise the introduction of a shower. Thanks for enabling me to remember my childhood holidays in a beautiful place and in a place that was comfortable for myself and my family.

3rd year here - cosy and ideally situated in beautiful Northumberland. Doesn’t have a shower (only shower adaptor) but can cope for a week!

Enjoyed our stay at Clover Cottage, excellent location for touring the area. Only criticism (minor) of the equipment in the cottage, a shower would have been appreciated.

Cons Tv only works on BBC channels without breaking up, sound is awful. One toilet roll, no hand soap, no kitchen foil, no cling film, milk in welcome pack was curdled! No instructions for the heating or oven, rubbish piled outside back bedroom window. Beds uncomfortable and the bed linen looked well used. Bathroom old fashioned with no shower. Pros Kitchen is generally well equipped and the cottage was clean. Heating was fine but you have no control to turn on if weather particularly cold The overall feeling was one of penny pinching, the only welcome seemed to be for our cash.

Strong smell of bleach that lasted all week. We had to buy air freshener. No phone availability. We couldn’t go barefoot in the cottage as the floor was like walking on sand with grit and dirt. Dirty cutlery and we had to wash everything first. Spring sticking up in double bed. Rubber shower attachment from the 70s. Very poor lock on the door. Most of all upstairs residents were like Big Foot with large barking dogs, lots of noise throughout the night.

Although the bedrooms were ok, the settees were very small and uncomfortable. I understand that there isn't much space but I was very dissappointed to find there wasn't a washer/dryer. One wardrobe and one set of drawers between 4 wasn't enough and one tiny spare cupboard to put your food in means we had to have our food etc on the work surfaces, leaving it very cluttered. As it rained every day we were there, it made things very difficult not being able to launder our clothes/coats etc. There is also no control over when the heating comes on which is particularly annoying when you come home and need to put wet things on radiators. No shower, apart from a rubber attachment you put on the taps. Pretty basic stuff but I think, nowadays, people expect a minimum of a shower and a washer? The stem of the toilet leeked urine on the floor and the bath mat was covered in hairs that were not ours! I'm pretty sure the cleaners hadn't been in as the floor had sand all over it when we arrived and the bathroom looked like it hadn't had a good scrub in a while.

The best thing about this cottage is location. It’s near the beach and the bus stop and the village shop, although the shop is very limited. The Saltwater cafe 2 minutes walk away is great for breakfast and tea. We arrived to find it clean and warm but the bathroom needs an update and the cottage generally a bit more TLC. We had a good week, walking and relaxing locally.

The property is very restrictive on where the dogs can go. There is no shower just a rubber adaption that fits on the taps so not safe for anyone with restricted mobility. Double bedroom very small only 12" on either side of the bed

A nice cottage in a lovely seaside village close to Seahouses. The cottage was cold when we arrived as the heating is on a timer, however, when it turned on the cottage soon warmed through. There is only one shop in the village, but the shopkeeper was very helpful. We'd be happy to go again.
