Idea accommodation for two and dog, which is just outside the National Park, but within easy reach of the Northern Lakes, Eden Valley, Solway Firth and western Hadrian Wall. It is in the small village of Greystoke, which has a well provisioned shop and a pub - the Boot and Shoe that serve hearty food and good beer. The barn is cosy, with underfloor heating and a wood burning stove, plus well equipped kitchen.

Highly recommended. A peaceful village location away from The Lakes crowds, and close enough to all The Lakes has to offer. A lovely cottage, in a lovely spot.

A comfortable let in a good location to visit the Lakes, Hadrian's Wall and the Dales as it is close to the trunk road network. It has ample room for two and the property and facilities are of a high standard. The village of Greystoke has a small Post Office and general store plus the very welcoming Boot and Shoe Inn. There is a wide range of restaurants and shops within a few miles both in the country and in Penrith. We would recommend The Barn and dogs are welcome

Our second visit to The Barn and we absolutely loved it! We had everything we needed for a nice quiet, relaxed weekend away. Everything is within easy reach, including the fab little pub across the road!! We will definitely be back.

Lovely property and very well equipped and maintained with attention to detail. Stayed previously and would highly recommend. my one and only thing to improve upon is that the lounge could do with a more comfortable sofa and chair not a reason not to go but from a comfort aspect would be most welcome. Safe to say The Barn is a lovely property we will return to again and again.

A beautifully converted barn property- very cosy and comfortable for two. Open plan downstairs with good quality kitchen and one spacious bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. Would have liked a few more cups/mugs and some wine glasses. We stayed for a (very wet) weekend in November in order to meet up with friends who live in Cumbria. The owners live next door and were pleasant and friendly. The property is opposite the village green and the local pub which was lively, friendly and served good pub food. The only slight downside was that I had not appreciated that the enclosed garden is not adjacent to the house. This meant that it wasn’t possible to let our dog out without first donning raincoat and wellies and putting his lead on. It is very convenient for Penrith and the North Lakes.

This a a very pretty barn conversion well equipped and beautifully decorated with good attention to detail. The only minus on our stay of 3 nights in November is that we could not adjust the room temperatures and felt it was too warm overall. A good base for exploring the Lakes.

Lovely place lovely village quality equipment but not sure about the heating system as the cottage was between 14 and 17 degrees which was too cold for us.

If you like a rural setting but within 10min drive of all your needs. Local pub is probably some of the best pub grub I’ve ever eaten and the staff are excellent. The barn is all you need it to be and more. Cosy, modern yet rustic. 10/10
