A quaint little cottage that is thoughtfully equipped, there's even a tea strainer! A nice welcome tray that included biscuits for the dog. The bedrooms are lovely and beds very comfortable. The gardens front and back were lovely and very secure so Milo could be let out without worry. The location was just right for getting around the island, though I hadn't realised the Isle of Wight was going to be so hilly! Major towns were easy to find and Osborne House is a treasure. All in all a good week,

A lovely cottage in a great location that is so convenient for the beach. Freshwater Bay is excellent for swimming and kayaking with good walking close by. The owner's representative is very helpful and even phoned to say the cottage was ready for us ahead of the published time. We had an excellent stay and will certainly consider staying again and will recommend to friends and family.

Love Coasguards cottage been last year and again this year. Tried to book for early september 2020 but booked up ? highly recommend particularly if you love the Downs and have a dog! 2 lovely secure gardens too no worries about the dog outside.

Ideally located for walking, both coastal and countryside. Lovely pub within reasonable walking distance. Quiet and peaceful location. Few amenities within walking distance, but everything you need within a five minute drive. Very dog friendly - dog biscuits included in welcome pack, plus dog bowls and towels. Our dog is sulking because he didn't want to come home. The size of the island means that all attractions are within striking distance, and Freshwater Bay is at the quiet end - which is precisely why we returned for a second visit.

Nice welcome tray and close to the beach. Did find the cottage a little small for 3 adults and 12yr old child. The garden brilliant both front and back for dogs being fully enclosed. Parking is difficult for more than one car, need to go to main road or pay at car park.

Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Cottage was excellent. We were out of season ( on purpose) so cafes etc were sometimes closed for winter.

Excellent coastal cottage, which was comfortable, warm and well equipped. Very dog friendly too! Couldn’t fault it! There is excellent walking from the doorstep, and friendly local shop which all adds to the pleasure of staying Freshwater Bay!

We stayed in a cottage in Freshwater Bay. We arrived for the first week in October, which by luck was when the beach restrictions for dogs was lifted. Granted it was quiet, but that was our choice of location. The cafe near the beach was only open once in our weeks stay, but we often drove out and about anyway so it wasn’t like it was a big miss. The cottage was great. Very clean with lots of added things like milk, Breakfast Cereals, logs for the fire, tea, coffee etc. Our host made absolutely sure the cottage was well prepared despite us arriving at 1pm. Nothing is ever going to be perfect but these couple of things are nothing more than trivial at best, but feedback is always good. There was a choice of 3 bedrooms despite booking for just two of us, but I found the front bedrooms bed very uncomfortable, so I took the back bedroom after that. I do have a memory mattress at home so it’s not surprising I suffered a bit. I did sleep better on the other bed though. The second problem was the entrance when driving out of Coastguard Cottages. It’s so blind that you have inch out into the road to see oncoming traffic. It was pretty quiet for us, but I can imagine in the height of the summer it becoming very dangerous. But that’s not the cottages fault. Overall it was pretty impressive and we got great value for money despite there being just two of us and two dogs. There’s a big Co-op just 5 minutes away to. We ate out most nights and all within reach within 10 minutes. We particularly liked the Waterfront. Others where the Sun Inn, the Sun and The Highdown. I can’t recall the last one unfortunately, but Waterfront was just so nice and right next to the sea.

Just brilliant! Have booked to go again next year - that says it all.

We had a lovely two weeks at this cottage. It is situated on the quieter side of the island with lovely walks from it. All the islands dog beaches are is very close proximity and ours enjoyed a beach run every morning. Cottage it's self was very clean and comfortable and we were made very comfortable by Caroline. Two large enclosed gardens were lovely. Only down side for me was the parking. It does have parking but at the end of a small lane. Almost impossible to turn around if there are other cars. My own car was damaged during our stay while parked by someone probably trying to turn, they didn't stop to make my aquitance The only alternative is to reverse in or out and it's a long narrow lane. Great place however and would definitely go back
