Set within the Broadland village of Surlingham with River Yare running through, it’s a gateway to the miles of Norfolk Broads waterways and rich in wildlife and great fishing opportunities. This wonderful holiday home is light and bright with comfortable contemporary furnishing. Having a lovely sunny garden, perfect to simply relax and al fresco dine within, enjoy watching the sunsets. For cooler evenings why not snuggle up on the comfy sofa and enjoy a movie on the TV.
Surlingham has two great local pubs, both serving good food, along with a wine distillery with wine tasting tours (available during summer time) and farm patisserie. Great walking, cycling and bird watching are available from the doorstep, and any fishing enthusiasts will love the fact that fishing is available directly along the rivers’ edge (seasonal, licence required). A circular path leads out from doorstep, or the RSPB nature reserve at Church Marsh, Surlingham, where the walk passes by the burial place of the naturalist Ted Ellis, before returning alongside the River Yare. There are so many attractions locally, including the traditional seaside resort of Great Yarmouth with activities for all ages (24 miles). Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads, waterside restaurants, shops, daily boat hire and river trips (15 miles). There is local fishing nearby but not on site.
The City of Norwich, 8 miles, has two indoor shopping malls, market square, theatre, castle museum, cathedral, art galleries and plenty of cafés, restaurants and inns. There are lots of excellent sandy beaches, many backed by sandy dunes within 40 minutes’ drive. Riverside (River Yare) and pub 0.5 mile. Local shop in the village of Rockland St Mary. Farm shop for local produce 0.4 mile.
