The living room with double aspect windows has views up the tree-lined street of this lovely little Scottish Borders village. The quality continues at Constable Corner in the modern and extremely well-equipped kitchen and dining room, and the bedrooms on the first floor have luxurious and super comfy beds whilst the family bathroom is sleek and modern. Conveniently located on the ground floor, the original cells of the Police Station have been transformed into a stylish and functional downstairs toilet.
Town Yetholm is a small village just inside the Scottish border and is linked with Kirk Yetholm at the end of the Pennine Way. The village has a thriving shop, a pub and a garage. The village is on St Cuthbert’s Way, one of the most beautiful, varied and enjoyable long-distance walking routes in Britain and one of Scotland’s Great Trails. Traversing the national border between Scotland and England, this inspiring 62½ miles route links Melrose in the Scottish Borders, where St. Cuthbert started his religious life in 650AD, with Holy Island off the Northumberland Coast.
There is an abundance of activities to keep you occupied during your stay at Constable Corner. Close by is the larger town of Kelso which has a wide choice of pubs and restaurants with wonderful independent shops. The town is on the junction of the Rivers Tweed and Teviot, famous for its salmon fishing. There are many historic houses and beautiful gardens to visit including Floors Castle, Mellerstain, Thirlestain and Abbotsford to mention just a few. Throughout the year many events take place at the Border Union Showground in Kelson including antique fairs, art exhibitions and the Border Union Agriculture Show, a two-day event in July. Or why not enjoy a flutter on the horses at Kelso racecourse? The Scottish Borders really is a land of beautiful landscapes offering outstanding facilities for cycling, hill walking, bird watching, fishing, horse riding and golf.
