The cottage location is amazing. So close to Rutland water. The cottage itself was beautiful. It was very well equipped (we didn’t find a cheese grater) given its size. We loved the double doors opening into the courtyard. The bedroom did have a funny smell to it so we fabreezed it from top to bottom. We would visit again.

Very cold and poor heating system. Decor very tired. Bed felt damp and the bedding smelt. This was replaced quickly the next day. No blind in the bathroom. Low water pressure for bath and shower. Very basic for the money we paid. Needs a re-vamp.

Great location but cottage needs a total revamp and a good clean. No blind on bathroom window only one bracket where it use to be, cooker knobs drop off when you try to use them, dog hair over the sofa and blowing around floor. We took our dog but that doesn’t mean we’re ok being in such conditions. With a bit of money spent on it the place could be lovely.

Cottage cold with old fashion night storage heaters. Letting cottage in winter with no way of drying wet coats ect. Unable to reach bathroom heater or even light. Lovely soft furnishing and kitchen. Problem with knob on cooker falling off. EXCELLENT LOCATION! Needs updating

I know we went in January but the cottage was very cold, host brought us blankets which was brilliant but we were frozen, and for what I paid I didn’t expect such a poor shower, cold place and so many cobwebs. If I had the energy I’d seek refund

We picked the cottage because of the location as we have 2 dogs. I had read very mixed reviews about the cottage but it was fine and good value for money. It is small, but big enough for 2 people. Everything was clean and although the furniture is not new it was serviceable and with our dogs we felt much more comfortable than in a chic hotel room. The heating is a bit oldfashioned but it worked and we were not cold despite temperatures around freezing. As mentioned in other reviews the bathroom could use an update (the water pressure in the shower is pretty low), but it was still ok. Overall we had a lovely time and will come again.

Location good, living area fine. Bedroom and bathroom smelt damp. Water pressure extremely low, took ages to run a bath and towels had unpleasant/damp smell. Kitchen oven not used as dirty. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and this cottage lacked any basic condiments e.g. salt, pepper, vinegar and sugar. Also no bin bags. Outside space and parking very good.

The name is Copper Beech which leads to confusion. Please sort. Rather dark because of the Beech trees. Lots of spiders. Water running constantly in the bathroom sealed cupboard. Heating not to be used according to a notice, fan heater provided. No blind or curtain in bathroom I was made to feel uncomfortable to request one resulting in a net provided which was no better at night. I hung a pillowcase up in the end. Situation brilliant as just a stroll to the lake and Normanton church which is why I recommend it.
