A comfortable slightly quirky cottage on a relatively quiet main street (though rather fine race horses pass by from early morning) equipped with all the necessaries and a comfirtable bed. Village has a small shop and a number of pubs & cafés. Middleham Castle is just a stone's throw away.

I can't recommend Corner Cottage enough for one or two people, albeit I'd like it to remain a little secret so that it doesn't become too popular to book. Corner Cottage is indeed small with a tiny rear yard, outside table and chairs, but if you don't need a larger space, the cottage is ideal, clean, tidy, well equipped and just at the edge of Middleham, peaceful, yet close enough to local pubs and amenities. From about 7.30 am, horses from the racing stables clip clop past the window going to and from the gallops which is both pleasant and nice to watch. I would book Corner Cottage again in a flash as it's very reasonably priced too. If you are going to venture out of the village to eat then the Wensleydale Heifer at West Witton is a fabulous treat, whilst The Kings Arms in Askrigg is great for Sunday dinner with a large sharing plate of meats and veg at a reasonable price and pub grub, it's also the pub used for the All Creatures Great and Small series.

Excellent pub in the village Richard III, good home cooked Yorkshire food. Cottage is small but lovely, wifi freeview excellent. Racehorses go by early every morning, lovely to see them.

This cottage was much smaller than expected, although to be fair it was not our original choice as the cottage we originally bookedhad suffered a flood and this was a very last minute alternative. The cottage always felt cold when first entering although various methods of heating was provided it took some time to warm up. Seating in lounge was uncomfortable for us however kitchen was well equipped. Its the little things that matter ...such as extractor fan in bathroom not working efficiently and we were unable to clean out all the debris from this. Plus the vacuum cleaner was full of dirt when we came to use it and even though we emptied and cleaned this the suction was not adequate to clean the carpet. We have used many many cottages over the years but unfortunately this was disappointing. Apart from above the location us good and we did have many enjoyable walks

Really enjoyed our stay at corner cottage. Bed was comfy and we slept really well. We found getting pots etc out of the cupboard a bit awkward due the position of the fridge. Overall cleanliness was good but we had to Hoover the bottom of the electric fire as it wouldn’t give any heat out due to thick dust blocking it. The cottage is in a central location for visiting Leyburn,Hawes etc. We arrived before the small local shop shut but bear in mind if you arrive late there’s no where to buy milk bread etc. so maybe a small welcome pack could be provided for an extra cost. Would book again if visiting the area.

Wonderful cottage in a great location, a few minutes walk from a selection of pubs/restaurants and bus stop, excellent centre for walking. The cottage was well equipped, the only thing s missing were avsmall hand brush and shovel for brushing up crumbs on the kitchen floor, also missing was an ice tray, but otherwise every thing else you could want.

My husband and I traveled Scotland and Northern England for 9 weeks, staying one week at Corner Cottage, it was the best! The bed, so comfortable, the shower, excellent, heaters everywhere, almost overkill, you will not be cold here. The kitchen well stocked (knives do need sharpening tho, and a wooden chopping board would help them stay sharp). The lounge was very comfortable. Perfect for two people.

Corner Cottage made an ideal base for the two of us for a relaxing week’s break. It was very comfortable and excellently equipped. Middleham is a delightful village - we loved being woken by the horses going up to the gallops. In this day and age, a village with four pubs, village shop and a fish and chip shop is a great find!

Corner cottage is in a lovely location and it was a joy to see the racehorses going past the window every morning. The cottage itself was appropriately furnished and to a clean standard, though it would benefit from some minor updating. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen was of good quality ensuring we slept really well during our stay.

We had a lovely stay at Corner Cottage, the village is a beautiful location and we enjoyed seeing the horses go past every morning. Cottage was lovely and clean. Washing machine was a godsend as we were travelling with a teenager and baby. Can't wait to book again.
