Everything superb only negative beds too soft but suppose that's personal preference. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful retreat.

Wonderful cosy cottage. Great base from which to explore the Northern Lakes. Very well equipped. Furnished to a high standard.

    out of 10

A nice, straightforward cottage well appointed and reasonably close to the northern Lakes and some good walks from Lowther. Downside is its proximity to a huge dairy farm, which means a stream of tractors, milk tankers and other paraphernalia of an agribiz concern disturb at times.

Lovely cottage, lovely location. Will definitely go back

Excellent cottage and I will have no hesitation going back to Corner Cottage, hence my top marks. Great Strickland is very convenient for touring the area, being close to the A6 and eastwards towards Appleby. Get good local maps, such as Ordnance Survey maps, for exploring the area and avoiding Penrith which can be a bottleneck. We ate three evenings at The Strickland Arms, which speaks for itself and is recommended. There is no shop in the village, hence my mark for local amenities, but we stocked up at Morrisons in Penrith and the Co-op in Shap so it was not a problem. All in all a most enjoyable holiday in a first class cottage and I look forward to a return visit.
