This stunning end-terrace cottage was renovated in 2018 with great attention to detail. With good-quality fittings and furnishings, this really is a special place to enjoy your holiday. Relax in the living room with its large picture window where you can sit and watch the world go by. The kitchen is sleek and modern, the perfect place to cook up a treat, and the bedrooms upstairs certainly do not disappoint with their sumptuous beds and each with en-suite facilities. Whilst the Lake District has so much to offer, you may not want to leave the comfort of this super holiday home.
Corner Cottage is situated in the heart of the delightful little village of Portinscale which sits on the north western shore of Derwentwater. From Corner Cottage you can walk along to Derwent Water Marina where water sports enthusiasts can hire canoes, kayaks and rowing boats, as well take part in wind surfing. There are many leisurely, and not so leisurely, walks from your doorstep up Catbells, Causey Pike and the Coledale Horseshoe. If it is more leisurely activities you are looking for, a short walk from Portinscale takes you to the landing stage at Nichol End where you can enjoy a cruise around the lake.
Whilst Keswick is only 2 miles away with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, Portinscale has a traditional pub, a tea room and a restaurant, and only a 10-minute walk away is the Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden. The walled garden sits on the same spot as the old Lingholm Kitchen Garden that Beatrix Potter credited as her original inspiration for Mr McGregor’s garden in The Tale of Peter Rabbit! Corner Cottage will certainly add to the magic of your holiday in this beautiful area. Beach 20 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

Corner cottage itself is lovely inside. Location is ok but can be noisy at times, we were woken a good few times at night with people returning from local establishments and also delivery's in the morning. Car parking could be better it’s either a parking space or a footpath it doesn’t work as both. I don’t like the idea of people squeezing past my car in such a tight space with bikes and luggage.

Really nice cottage and really well kept. Very modern and tastefully decorated. Great location for exploring the northern fells. A cafe and pub in the village. About 20mins walk to Keswick or 5mins in the car.

Comfortable, well appointed little cottage in the heart of Portinscale with an easy walk into Keswick and many other walks from the door. The downside is that there is not a secure outside space for a dog or a private space to sit in the sunshine. The upside is that there is a parking space. Note that there is no shop in the village so take some basics such as milk with you for that first cuppa. Good village pub only a few minutes walk.

A beautiful cottage in an excellent location for us. A problem with the DVD was fixed immediately and the staff in the Keswick shop were lovely. Cottage beautifully designed, refurbished and equipped. A fabulous stay. Thank you.

What a beautiful place to stay, ideally located in Portinscale, within easy reach of Keswick, just 1 mile away. Lovely and quite area with lots of lovely walks easily accessible from this area. The cottage itself was absolutely fantastic, well kitted out and very clean, with everything you could possibly want.

We stayed here for 1 week during Christmas 2018. On first walking into the cottage it really was a big "wow" from both of us as we entered the modern spacious kitchen and the lovely bedrooms with en-suite facilities. Being recently refurbished everything is brand new. But it's not just the furniture and décor that impress but also all the little touches here and there that really make you feel at home. The location is perfect for walking and cycling with just a short walk to the lake and you're straight out onto the local fells. Local eateries include the Chalet for coffees and snacks and the local pub the Farmers Arms for traditional bar meals. We would definitely return.
