Cornfield is situated within the riverside conservation village of Reedham with the River Yare running through; it’s a gateway to the miles of Norfolk Broads waterways and rich in wildlife and great fishing opportunities. The Wherryman’s Way walk passes through the village, with part of it being the river wall from the village to the Ferry.
Providing excellent holiday accommodation for any time of year. The spacious rear enclosed lawned garden is perfect to simply relax and al fresco dine within. The front of the property has views across the marshes. Reedham itself has two great local pubs, as well as one at The Ferry, alongside two cafés, a fish and chip shop and a railway station all within walking distance.
Great walking, cycling and bird watching are available from the doorstep. A popular area for cyclists, with many local cycle clubs welcoming new riders and happy to share their route knowledge. With a little planning, it is possible to take the train to Berney Arms and then walk back (approx 5 miles along the Wherryman’s Way). There are many attractions within 30 miles, including the traditional seaside resort of Great Yarmouth with activities for all ages. Pettitts Animal and Adventure Park, 1 mile.
Within easy reach is Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads, waterside restaurants, shops, daily boat hire and river trips. Market town of Acle, 7 miles away, has cafés, inns, shops and a supermarket. Beccles and Bungay are easily accessed via the chain ferry, which is an adventure in itself! The historic city of Norwich is a 17 mile drive, with a park and ride on this side of the city, or why not let the train ‘take the strain’. There are numerous shopping and entertainment possibilities as well as historic churches and museums. Within a half hour drive there are numerous sandy beaches, either in the town of Great Yarmouth or in the countryside, most of which are dog friendly. The train also runs to Lowestoft regularly.
