There is easy access to Battle train station, which runs services direct to London. Battle is a pretty market town with a plethora of tea shops, boutiques, art galleries, many restaurants and Georgian and medieval cottages. The town grew around the abbey which was built by William the Conqueror, and the high altar is believed to be placed on the spot where Harold fell. The imposing gatehouse built around 1338 can be seen as you look down the High Street and graces many a postcard! Re-enactments take place at the abbey and a Norman soldier can often be spotted.Walkers rejoice as Battle is the centre of the 31-mile 1066 Country Walk between Pevensey Castle and the Cinque port town of medieval Rye, with links to the beautiful coast at Bexhill and Hastings. Autumn heralds the firework displays for which Sussex is famous for. Guy Fawkes is said to have sourced his gunpowder from the Battle Powder Mills. The Battle event, organised by the Battel Bonfire Boyes, includes a torchlight procession and fabulous firework display. The area also has many award-winning vineyards to visit, and golf and fishing are available locally. Beach 6 miles. Shop 250 yards, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

Generally speaking, very nice cosy cottage, well equipped and nice everyday kitchen/bedroom fittings etc. etc.
Only slight problem was parking and not very friendly neighbours.

neat and cosy house couple of things that could be improved but that's not the owners fault.

The cottage is so clean and homely. It has everything you could need. The garden was so secure for our two little dogs. The location was easy to get to many places of interest in East Sussex. I would recommend coming here. Nice bottle of wine along with milk and coffee went down well.?
This is my second time as cosy cottage. The host is amazing, nothing is to much trouble and always leaves a nice welcome pack. It feels like walking into a home not a rental house. Parking was always easy. It would be nice to have a TV in the bedroom but that is no complaint from this relaxing comfortable home. Looking forward to returning again later in year.
This was the perfect home in which to spend Christmas!
We loved the cosy feel of the place and it was impeccably kept.
Wouldn't hesitate in recommending to others.
Cosy cottage was a wonderful find. The house has everything you could want. It's so comfortable and feels like home.
Looking forward to booking again soon.
