There are chances you will see boxing hares or deer first thing in the morning. This is a fantastic place for a walking holiday, with the Wolds Way not far from the cottage which is a 79-mile walk that leaves Hessle and finishes in Filey. The walk takes you through the stunning Yorkshire countryside calling at quaint villages for refreshments. Cyclists too will find many interesting and enjoyable routes. The coast is only a 20-minute drive away, within 11 to 13 miles of the east coast resorts of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. Visit the traditional seaside resort of Bridlington with its working harbour and local attractions such as the Spa Theatre and Sewerby Hall and Gardens, or further north is Flamborough Head, Filey and Scarborough, all great family resorts. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton is just a short drive away where you’ll find puffins in their natural habitat. If you fancy some shopping, the cathedral city of York is less than a 1-hour drive away. As well as shops, there are several museums, and of course the Minster which is the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe. For those who prefer countryside pursuits, try some trout fishing at Driffield or further along the road there is a Cottondale shooting ground. Beach 11 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

It was comfy and warm on rainy days. We did not have mobile signal here but the Wi-Fi made up for that. There was a little mould near the taps on the bath but apart from that the house was clean and well kept. The garden could have done with a mow but the outside seating was peaceful and the birds were plentiful. Had a great time with lots of places to visit by car. Hubby fell in love with Filey.

First impressions of the cottage were fantastic. Rooms and decor lovely. Kitchen was lacking some basic equipment but manageable. Cake on arrival was lovely. Major issue was the poorly maintained garden. Grass was upto our knees and obviously not been cut yet this year. Travelled with 2 small children who love been outdoors so this was disappointing. Contacted owner and grass was partially cut but still not really good enough to allow 11 month old to roam in.

We knew that it was a small village with no shops/pub but it was convenient for our purposes so were quite happy to collect anything we wanted as and when

Beautiful cottage. Perfect for us. Well look after and presented with many personal touches. Great location for a relaxing break. Can’t comment on local amenities as brought all that we needed with us. Equipment- egg cups would be nice. Chocolate cake upon arrival is a wonderful plus!!! ? and thoroughly enjoyed! Would return and would highly recommend.

This was our second stay at Willow Tree Cottage. For us it is an ideal base to visit all of the places we wanted to visit in North Yorkshire & along the coast. It is a very clean & comfortable cottage with a real cosy feel. We would highly recommend staying at Willow Tree Cottage & would definitely stay there again if we visit that area again.

Lovely cottage we would hope to return to in the future. Set up perfect and very clean! A few problems for us were in two bedrooms the mattresses were poor and the cottage was missing a few kitchen items; oven gloves, bread knife, scissors, baking sheet and bread bin. It's not close to any shops but that's perfect for us, out of the way and very peaceful. Lovely stay at willow tree cottage!

We have stayed at willow tree cottage twice this year in fact whilst staying at the cottage in November I have already booked again for next November.we love this cottage a little gem we have found .The owners attention to detail home comforts cleanliness is exceptional. There is always a welcoming home made cake and milk or box of biscuits and fresh milk tea coffee on arrival. The cottage is modern beautifully decorated and lots of space. If we had one little niggle it would be the shower the pressure and temperature not easy to control either hot or to cold ,we tended to use the bath. This hasn't stoppedus booking again though for a weeks break again in November ,we would highly recommended this cottage .

Just got back from a weeks stay at Willow Tree Cottage. Absolutely amazing, cottage is so well decorated and clean. Really well equipped and a lovely surprise of a fresh chocolate cake on arrival. Not far to Scarborough, York and Whitby. There isn’t anything so far as a pub or shop within walking distance of the cottage but that didn’t bother us at all. Very quiet setting, it was perfect. The only thing I will say is that everyone we stayed with mentioned that the shower wasn’t very good, no pressure in the head at all, other than that, our stay was brilliant! Definitely book again.

Clean, spacious cottage with a lovely garden. Very quiet location, but no shops or pub nearby. Overall would recommend. Side note; hot water gets very hot, very quickly. Take care if you have young children staying. A reminder sign above taps might help.
