Hoseasons "This Grade II listed cottage is set in a World Heritage Site and is a great place to explore Derbyshire and its attractions.\n\nThis 18th-century Grade II listed terraced holiday cottage is the earliest piece of planned industrial housing in the world. Surrounded by countryside it is at the heart of a designated World Heritage Site in the village of Cromford. This lovingly restored cottage has been tastefully converted whilst still retaining its character and charm. Cromford is an excellent location for walks and Cromford Canal Black Rocks and High Peak Trail are all close by. Matlock Bath is only 2 miles Matlock 4 miles and Bakewell 10 miles where you can spend a day around Chatsworth House or medieval Haddon Hall. 20 miles away is Buxton Opera House and Gardens as well as Castleton and its caves where you can take a boat tour and listen to the history. This cottage is in such a historic place, just round the corner from North Street, Cromford. There is so much to do in the Cromford area and a little further afield. We had a lovely weekend. The cottage itself is totally quirky with rooms on different levels and abounds with stairs and steps. For this reason, it would be unsuitable for little children or those with infirmities. The beds are clean and comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and there is a convenient sitting room with a wood burning stove. You take pot luck with parking in North Street, but usually can find a space somewhere close by.

Had a lovely week in Cotton Cottage. Location was excellent as was the village. A few more utensils etc in the kitchen would have been great as well as a few more tea/hand towels. Information and bags for recycling would also have helped - we were unsure what to do with rubbish etc. These are suggestions. We really enjoyed our week and the weather was very kind.

Excellent stay & very comfortable, thanks.

Nice little cottage. It is next to a pub but the v.v. thick stone walls mean you cannot hear anything. Anyone with mobility issues should note there are a lot of steps.

The cottage is lovely and quirky and is a wonderful step back in history with the comfort of modern living. It was warm and inviting and the option of a bath and power shower were very welcome. The cottage is far roomier than the pictures convey and the steps and parking were no issue. The cottage is located in a wonderful part of the Derwent valley with lots of walking and cycling from the door and easy access to popular Peak District attractions. The only negative was that there is some road noise in the morning in the main bedroom but that does get you up to enjoy the day!

Cotton Cottage is a comfortable and well equipped, quirky little home from home. It's in a great location for walking and discovering the history of this lovely part of the Peak District.
