Nice cottage, well equipped and lovely views. A bit of a trek uphill from the nearest village with facilities so car necessary.

Cotton Cottage is a beautiful place for a Peak District holiday. The cottage is really well situated for keen walkers - it is almost on the path up to the Great Ridge - one of the finest walks in this country. The cottage has a lovely big living room, with all modern equipment. The dining room is in an excellent position looking out over the Hope Valley with views on Win Hill - and bats darting around in the evenings. The bedrooms are a bit on the small side, but they are cosy and warm, and the bathroom is very small as well. There is a stunningly beautiful garden, but this is shared with the owners. That's not a problem for many people, but some might prefer seclusion. There is an excellent pub within about 10 minutes' walk. We would return if we were back in the same area.

A comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. It manages to be both off the beaten track (up a steep no through-road), but also within walking distance of some good amenities, including a convenience store, pubs etc. The garden is gorgeous and there are lots of friendly animals to get to know. There is lots to do in the local area, with walks from the door and attractions such as Chatsworth within easy driving distance. The owner took great care of us, going above and beyond. She not only called me as soon as she found my son's favourite teddy after our departure, but she also got it in the post the same day so he only had to go one night without it.
